Any bucknutters at the Hollywood Casino? I made the trip from Akron to play poker
Be prepared to be rivered over and over by pukes who should have mucked early ,recommend 2-5$ better players ,less stupid or bad beats.
3 teams that own the weasels from up north
No one likes to lose but when you get rivered by the same puke hitting gut shot straights and calling 40-50 $.on back to back hands it stings a little. but beautiful place to play.and a good time to be had
good luck,Ill be sporting buckeye gear representing about midnight.
wow after thinking about it I guess that was my Phil Helmuth reply.sorry But have fun.
I wish there was a good seven card stud game in Ohio (Cleveland or Cbus). Hold 'em is so boring.
Yea I feel you toledo that's what can be so frustrating with playing live poker, it is really easy to get cracked by fish that don't know what they are doing
You're driving to Cols to go to Hollywood ... I'd rather go up 77 to Horseshoe. I just think they run a better operation. Love the one in Cincy. First discovered it in Hammond, Ind. I think they do a great job.
Hollywood's table limits in Cols are high because there is no direct competition for 100 miles. Very nice infrastructure, lots of bells and whistles. Can somebody explain to me how you have 2 areas of table games, but if you want to cash chips in you have to walk a half mile and stand in a line ... even in the middle of the day???? Pisspoor planning if you ask me. Should be 2 cages, one near each set of table games.

I love it, with the exception of a few things like there only being one cashier station and it not being by the table games as Steve said. Hey, that's a problem I want to have though. It usually means you've won some cash.
Overall, I think they did a great job with it. But yes, they jack up the price of the table games ... because they can. Even on a weeknight, you usually can't find $15 minimum blackjack tables. All $25 minimum (or more). If you get there early, there will be some $15 tables. On the weekends, they change from $15 to $25 no later than 6 p.m. (Can you tell blackjack is my game? I've had some decent luck there so far.)
They've made it a really nice place to watch sports too with tons of TVs everywhere.

Steve I went to the Hollywood Casino because I had to go to a family reunion and it was on the way back. I only play poker so the table games are not really an issue to me. I couldnt believe how nice it was, it was almost as nice as some of the casinos in Vegas. And btw the action was great, I cracked some fish and went up 300, me and my family are going back to the Hollywood Casino tomorrow in the morning I am hoping I run as good as I did today tomorrow
Glad to hear that it's a nice place. Definitely planning to go play some poker when I come back to town to see the family. Definitely glad to hear the players aren't any good too. ;)
Dave, I feel your pain for the table minimums being $25. That said, I was there last night (sat evening) from 830-1030pm and there were a handful of $15 black jack tables. I was pleasantly surprised for $15 tables on a weekend.
As Seinfeld would say, "I broke even".......Elaine throws a $20 bill out the window, next thing u know Jerry finds a different $20 dollar bill in his jacket. Priceless!!
Yeah. maybe I am being too harsh, the building and everything are nice, I'd just like to see them cater just a little bit to the $10 player every once in a while.
Played at the Hollywood Casino in Toledo Saturday night and they had plenty of $15 min tables.

Rarely are you 100 percent to win before the river. I view poker as creating as many 60-40% and 70-30% positions as possible and maximizing the money I can get into the pot at that point. But, 30-40 percent of the time, the other guy gets paid. My best results are when I can minimize paying people off when they hit. You can't get annoyed by bad players...they are the easiest to win against over the long term.
I play poker 3-4 days a week at Hollywood (2-5 NL) and have since it opened. I just went to the new Horseshoe in Cincy for the first time Friday night. The casino in Cincy is far better, especially the design and action (5 full 2-5 NL tables friday night vs. 1 or 2 at Hollywood on average) in the Poker room. I will be making the trek to Cincy fairly often now to play poker even though I live in Pataskala and it is about 80 miles more driving each way than Hollywood Columbus is for me, I really think that much of the Horshshoe vs. Hollywood.
