Has anyone went on vacation there before? Give me some details what to expect this summer when I make a trip down there.
I live in Charleston. It's pretty quiet area outside of charleston. off the beach. beautiful. good family spot in my opinion.
What about the night life or is it more family spot?
There are a couple fun bars. They are all right by each other. Can't remember the names but I went 2 summers ago. It's not really much nightlife, more beach bar/day drink spots. Nightlife is downtown
I lived in Mt Pleasant across the bridge for three years. IOP is very quiet with a nice beach. Sullivans Island just to the south has some ok restaurants and bars. Dunlevys Pub is a must. Cash only. Free popcorn. Great draft beer selection. Across the street is Poes which has great burgers and beer. The Boathouse restaurant is a must. It sits right between IOP and SI and has good seafood and killer views.
National President of the Sky is NOT Falling Club
Have also visited several times and I think its awesome. Enjoy the beach all day and then go into Charleston for the night. Great.
If interested, call Capt Ben Floyd at the Isle of Palms Marina for fishing. He knows the area and will find the fish. Redfish, flounder, spade fish, etc. The Ocean golf course is highly rated. TONS of stuff to do.
Agree with boathouse recommendation. Some of the best seafood I have had anywhere.
