Anyone have one, or does anyone have an opinion on the Mazada car.
Urban 2 Hoke 0
Funny you should ask the engine light just came on in my '09 and the rpm reader is high even when i turn the car on its at 1.5. Im taking it in tomorrow but anyone have an idea what the problem is?
My wife has a CX=7... just had the thermostat changed... to pass California admissions... but other than that it runs like a deer. And we havent had any issues other than routine maintenance.
Is it a 4 speed? Mazdas typically run a little high...idling and at higher speeds .. id get a compression check. Also do you ever use overdrive?

my buddy has one of the SUV's....not sure what its called, but its like 2 years old and he has changed the tires 3 times, something along the lines that it is a weird size and very few are manufactured, don't know all the details

My brother's fiancee and I both drive Mazda 6's. She and I both enjoy driving it, but both of us have also had problems with phantom check engine lights. I've had 2 in 2 years, and both times the mechanic could't find anything wrong and it just seemed to go away. They also run a bit hotter and burn a bit more oil than a comparable 6 cylinder car. But like I said, still fun to drive.
Its not bad. I've test driven some recently. They come in either an inline 4 cyclinder, which I do not recommend, or you can get the 3.7 liter V6 which is nice. The inside is roomy and comparable to the Toyota Camry's I test drove and Hondas. The V6 is a gas hog however. A lot of cheap looking plastic on the interior but for a car around 20k new off the lot....meh.
The thing about the mazda is they are not cheap to fix. You'd be better off in the long run getting a domestic. As someone already stated the tires are nonstandard. Imagine what everything else is going to cost you.
Me? I like the Malibus, Impalas are nice, Charger, and maybe one of the new Camaros for nostalgia. Ford still make the Tauras? That was a good car for the money as well.
The only car from Mazda I would get is the one with the Wankel engine. But thats just me.

We drive a Mazda 6 2010, It is a great car for travelling as we tried many cars to compare like the camery, accord and flex. The only thing a little wired we have noticed, and I do want to say we love it for sure, the tires make a high pitch noise sometimes. My husband is in a carpool and it is noticeable by all the engineers. It is good on gas, looks sporty and drives great in all weather. The price was the real decider too. We wanted a maxima but we could not justify the price difference. God luck. Don't rush test drive them all.

Nice looking car but it is a Mazda. Best bet = Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford.
I have a 2012 mazda 3 and I love it. I bought mine in Dec. of 11 and I haven't had any issues with it. And it does get 40 mpg on the highway. the 6's look really nice, but i don't know much about them
Just bought a new Ford Fusion & it is an incredible car. I highly recommend you test drive one.

boom, +1 for you. I work in auto finance and IMHO, if you can afford a Mazda 6, you should purchase an Accord, Maxima, or Camry instead. Unlike some others on this board i think Ford cars are dog sh*t, their trucks and SUV's are some of the best though.
As far as the engine light it could be a number of things but most common is the oxygen sensor. On my '01 Accord the check engine light has been on for several years. As a result it gets terrible gas mileage and would have fixed it a long time ago but I drive my '10 Accord a bit more. My '01 Accord is in the shop now and they called me today to tell me the problem. I forget what was causing it (not a sensor) and they're ordering the part...
