As some of you may know thru some of my posts, I'm a Purple Raider alum, and a die-hard follower of Mount Union football... I couldn't have been any more excited than when Pierre Garçon made the Colts roster as a special teamer a few years back, then made his way into the lineup as a wr because of injuries...Although he sometimes had issues with drops, he also had a knack for making tough catches and big plays... He parlayed a solid couple of seasons with Peyton Manning into a multi-million dollar contract with the Redskins... His play also helped pave the way for Cecil Shorts, the former purple raider and now Jacksonville Jaguar, who himself is having an all-pro season...unfortunately, success has also brought out the worst in garçon... His actions on the field over the last couple of seasons have shown a side of him that I can't believe anyone could support... He runs his mouth all game, spins the ball at defender's feet after he makes a catch, points to his name on the back of his jersey after big plays, just to make sure everyone knows who he is... Against the browns yesterday, he tried to start a fight every single chance he could, sometimes teammates having to restrain him during possession changes... He was constantly looking for the camera, making sure he was right there acting like a jacka$$... The small college kid, the one who beat the odds and made it to the league.. His talent is obvious, his lack of character/sportsmanship is even more so... Here's to hoping Cecil Shorts is the most successful wr in Mount Union history

You're right. I remember seeing him a few times earlier in his career with the Colts and the guy has definitely changes. On one hand, you have to have an intense amount of competitiveness to succeed at the highest level. But you're right, he acted like a total punk yesterday. Not sure what his problem is. Inferiority complex?
did he act like a jerk every time he caught a pass at Mount?
He definitely had a nasty streak in him at mount... Difference is, he paid to play at mount, and Larry Kehres wouldn't put up with it... Now, he's a multimillionaire, and his behavior is almost "accepted" in the nfl these days...
I was watching the game yesterday with Redskins fans down here in VA......They were all saying he needed to just shutup and play and agreed he should have gotten flagged for spinning the ball. Not sure if he always acts that way, but yesterday I wasn't imprssed with his actions.
Yeah, i was kinda shocked that he was acting like that. I didn't think he liked to act in that fashion.

Him and Moss both spin the ball after every catch, normally he doesn't mix it up that much but think TJ Ward got everyone going early.
Seems like most players celebrate like a Super Bowl winning td after routine plays. Get a sack do a dance. Make a catch spin the ball or signal first down and so on. It's not just him its at minimum half the league. If you don't do that then your a cornball brotha. Role models get put down and goons get the attention. It is what it is. We don't know what them corners were saying but it was getting chippy on the edges during the game.
LOL, sounds like you're butt-hurt about my Skins taking it to the Clowns. I was there it was glorious.
I went to Mount with PG and know him decent enough. We weren't nessacarily friends but we had a few classes together and a girl he "dated" is one of my great friends. He is very quiet, reserved, and very giving off the field. Before we start throwing the word "thug" around go and look at the millions he raised for Haiti. The man was invited to the White House for his work there. At Mount I very rarely saw the kid drink and never once heard of him in trouble, ever.
Did he talk trash on the field? Yes, but usually when challenged. He was an NFLer being targeted by 5"9 175lb corners, taking as many cheap shots as they could and trying to make a name for themselves. This usually lead to an 88 and out the gate situation for said corners.
You'd be crazy to think there isn't trash talked on every NFL down. He was a bit amped up yesterday. But, let's also look at the extenuating circumstances. A kid playing in no less then a 100 of his college buddies and teammates, playing for a playoff spot without RGIII, Haden talks as much as anyone, and oh yeah TJ Ward starting it off with a bang.
I am a bit bias. Again, we aren't friends but I've been around him enough to know he isn't a "clown" or needs his ass kicked.
We are coming for you Bama!
