Just wow. Wildly inappropriate, unprofessional, and she couldn't have picked a worse platform for what I'm sure her apologists are referring to as a "an act of artistic expression." Give me a freakin' break! . Just to be clear, the exact same would be true if she was Hispanic and threw up an "18th street" or "MLS" gang sign or if she was white and paid tribute to Hitler and/or some kind of white power crew. This is most assuredly NOT a black issue but a class issue, or lack thereof. Hardly surprised though as I met them when they were teens and they were much the same, entirely obnoxious. What do you think?

I thought it was pretty sweet. When else could you do the crip walk on the world biggest stage?
The crip walk is just like any other dance!

I would've preferred that she just acted like she's been there before. But who am I to judge, I guess...
Uh yeah, except for the little Inconvenient fact that it stems from one of the world's most ruthless and violent gangs and promotes their existence. But yeah, otherwise it was sweet man!
Crip walking does not equal throwing up gang sings and paying tribute to Hitler btw.

It was sweet! The crip walk is an epic dance that she just made famous AGAIN! I had no problem with it. People celebrate in a lot of different ways. She did a 7 second dance. Not that deep...

She brung us home the gold medal. What more do you want?
She is also from Compton where it started at. You have to pay homage to where you from.
You care. You responded. Perhaps if it didn't have the word Crip in front of it it could be perceived differently but I know, that was clearly the only dance or form of self expression she could perform. Crip walking=tribute to the Crips gang. Gang sign= tribute to said gang. Please enlighten me on how these are two entirely different animals.
If you really think crip-walking pays tribute to the crips, you have no idea what you're talking about.
i've crip walked before, and never have i thought "Shoutout to my crip homies".
Would she be hating on the sun if she did the moon walk? Would she be paying tribute to the moon?

Not to split hairs...but that wasn't C-Walking (The Crip Walk). That was simply called The Bounce. Personally, I feel you made it on your own. As long as you're not intentionally insulting another creed, culture, or race...do you. The way she destroyed the competition I probably would've cut a lil rug myself. But, to each their own.
Yep, my good buddy who plays D 1 football is from Bakersfield, CA and I think the next time he scores a TD, he should pull out a pipe and smoke some meth. You know, as a tribute to where he is from. It sends an excellent message IMO.
Why is it called the crip walk then? Which group invented it or popularized it, I clearly have it twisted?
