Ran a 4.82 40 yard dash which was 20 out of 26 of the LBs at the combine.
Must have run into his girlfriend out of the blocks.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Not sure what you are talking about..that's crazy fast.
Supposedly this is real.
It's real. John was looking for another gear which obviously Te'o doesn't have after he reaches his top speed at 20 yds or so and what NFL MLB does. These guys are making plays within a 15 yd radius and Te'o moves fine in that area. If you need middle linebacker to run a 4.6 40 you have bigger problems on your hands. Laurinaitis ran a similar time if I recall correctly. Vontaze Burfict ran over 5.0 last year. These guys are not blazers and don't need to be. They need to be reaction driven with instincts and get to the ball quickly. Their lateral movement and quickness is much more important than a straight on 40 yd dash.
Former Kansas City Chiefs GM Scott Pioli has some meaningful words for Manti Teo and harsh criticism for his detractors regarding the Catfishing scandal.

"5 foot 8.....what do they want a basketball team?"
I would only hire a gay man to work for me if he had a smokin' hot ass wife.
north till ya smell it, west till ya step in it.
My point is that in no way should have been the most decorated defensive player in the history of the sport.
I'm not saying he sucks but his combine performance supports what I saw on the feild.
A good but not transcendent player.
An extremely over hyped player.
A player you
most likely never would of heard of had he gone to Minnesota.
This is the diddy i like.
Sarah sorry about the Herpes.
Agreed, but I seem to remember the NC game and he was exposed. Is my memory bad?
NOTRE DAME was exposed!
Not one team on ND's schedule during regular season had much speed on it. Te'o could make plays against Mich St, Mich, Stanford, Pitt, Navy, BYU, and others ( not the fastest bunch on offense), then he got to Bama....and how many times did he absolutely whiff, going to where they "were" for the tackle? That's the reality of Te'o, in the NFL the RB's will make him look stupid.
JL ran exactly that time I think...If I am looking for a middle LB I want to know his 20 yard shuttle not his 40 time
I have this sick feeling that the Bengals are going to use their early second-round pick (fifth pick of the second round; one of the picks they got in exchange for Carson Palmer) on Te'o. They need linebackers.
Course, Ogletree might be out there and he fits the Bengals' mold better. Not only is he clearly a better player than Te'o, he's been arrested and comes from the AAA-affiliate Georgia Bulldogs.
