Anyone else see it yet? I saw it tonight at the Easton AMC and all I have to say is incredible. Not only is it a very entertaining movie (it's almost 3 hours long and I didn't want it to end) but it's a revolution of special effects and 3D. The 3D itself is nearly flawless and makes for some great scenes, especially the sweeping vistas of New Zealand, but it's the 48 FPS that really blows your mind. It's so smooth it's almost as if you're watching a live performance of a play at a theater, pulling you into the action. It's clear, smooth, and downright amazing. This movie will set the standard for movies for years to come, and I don't think I'll want to go back and watch any 24 FPS movies simply because it will be such a downgrade in quality. The critics who are blasting the 48 FPS are either nuts or stubborn to the core because it looks great the whole time. I'm not going to post any spoilers and I've never read the books but I have heard that there were some changes made to the original story but suffice it to say that they work very well.
Loved it cant wait to see it again. This trilogy will be epic.
Excellent movie. The actors, directors special effects were awesome. I rarely go to a movie twice, but will for this one
Same here, I already gushed about it to the rest of my family and we're going to go together (I saw it this time with a friend). Can't wait to see it again.
If it's as good as the lotr than I'll be thrilled. Those movies were epic.
It definitely is. It's a bit more light-hearted than the original trilogy but then again so is the book but it works very well with the humor, action and incredible vistas all coming together nicely. The acting is top notch and the only bad thing about the movie is at the end I was mad because we're gonna have to wait another year to see the next part lol
Went to the midnight premier.. It was amazing! I always thought I would like a movie version of the Hobbit better than the lord of the rings. If the first movie is any indication of the final two, it could very well happen. Loved that there was more humor in it and nothng can top the scenery from all the movies.
I'm going to see it Christmas Day and I can't wait. The Lord of the Rings are my favorite movies of all time.
Saw it in the regular 24 fps now Ill see it tomorrow in the 48 fps 3D version! Yes Sir!!!
Saw it and was kind of disappointed. The antagonist is not strong enough to hold up his end of the film, so the thing kind of meanders. That said, I'll probably see it again down the line; maybe I'm missing something or Jackson will solve that problem as he goes.
Love what he did with the dwarves and trolls.
Great film !!!!!
I am just waiting for Star Wars 7!
Hell yeah! Can't wait for that one. Its still crazy to me that are getting Episodes 7, 8, AND 9 plus likely more Star Wars movies beyond that.
