Yikes. I took two days off and am going to the Borgata this week....trying to keep my lucky streak alive (18 of 19 winning trips). What does the guy look like? Probably doesn't matter since I only play the cash games, but wow....what an asshole.
Btw....how does the Columbus poker room play? Going to be back in town later this summer. Relative difficulty to other rooms like Borgata, Bellagio, Wynn, etc?
No clue what he looks like. I have friends who relayed the story to me and know the guy.
Can't help you on the Cbus room either. I've only played there a couple times. I typically play in Cleveland.

Well? How did it go?

"Tonight, my butt's sore." - Mike Krzyzewski 11-29-11
So, got back in last night and here is the update....
Got busted on day one (Friday).....had Aces up 2x and got beat by guys hitting their set on the river.....first, AK vs JJ...flop an AK, he catches J on river.....second A10 vs 77, A99 on flop, he catches 7 on the river and I'm done...had chips in good both times.....used to get mad at people that would know they were behind but relied on the suck out....now, I realized I can't play any better when I push and am favorite to win....everything luck after that....
Saturday, spent the day with the wife playing craps and such.....lost about $800.....kept going up and down.....couldn't get any traction on the tables.....
Sunday was going to be a poker day, that the wife agreed to....had everything map out and schedules on my phone depending on when I finished up time wise....so, started at the Mirage for a $60 buy in with $5 add on of 4k chips at 11 am....so in for $65......had about 60 people with rebuys.....won this for $900.....it looked like I was going to bust out in 6th place as I was all in with my last 13k (blinds 6/12k with 1k ante) and had 88, which held up....within about 10 hands, I was the chip leader and easily went from there to the win....
Well, that was the last of my poker day......the wife wanted to play some other games since it was our last night.....since it was our first time together in Vegas, I went along......we were suppose to have friends go with us that would occupy her so I could just play poker the whole time and she would have things to do......well, they obviously cancelled and that put a serious crimp in my plans.....
Since my buy in for the $1500 was from a win in my monthly poker league, ended up down about $400 when all was said and done after playing craps and the wife's wheel of fortune....
As for the Cosmo hotel, I didn't spend much time there....the rooms was awesome....it was huge with a separate seating area.....overlooked the fountains and was in the West tower, the quieter end.....it wasn't really my scene for the rest of it....most of the tables were $25 ones and I normally play on $10 ones plus I didn't even see a poker room....spent most of my time at the Rio, Mirage, and Ceasars.......I cashed in points, so the room was free....would stay there again if using points but don't think I would pay their rates....plus had a resort fee daily, which is a joke....
Never made it to check out 1637....sorry devidee.......mostly forgot about it since I wasn't drinking there except for when we first got there.....I did ask the bartender at the Chandelier about it and he knew nothing about it....
Was a good overall trip - 1 for 2 on the poker (except not the one I wanted to win, lol)....next time though, I will make sure my wife has someone to hang with.......lol
Edit to add the most important part: so we are flying back and the wife says that I should probably play more poker since I seem to win money doing that vs her craps / slots / etc.....I said, you think......no duh....

Cosmo doesn't have a poker room.
How often do you play in Cleveland?? I am heading to OH this Sunday for about a 1 1/2 weeks to see family (vacation and can work from there since I am in IT)....we are headed to Cleveland on Wednesday to the casino....I am playing in the daily poker tournament that day at 7 pm then probably head to the cash games....
About twice a month. I used to play more often when I worked up near Cleveland but I recently took a new job that is south of Akron.
I've never played in any of their tournaments.
The room is kind of a mess as of late. They've recently brought in a new manager so we'll see how that goes.
Well, if you can make it up for Wednesday, let me know.....we are coming up from Ashland and spending the night....
Well, the tournament should be interesting then....lol
