Tiger's latest injury really makes me wonder if he can pass Nicklaus. I've always rooted against his doing it anyway, of course, but now I think he just might not.
He needs 5 more. Phil Mickelson has won 4. To do it Tiger would have to have a better career from this point on than Mickelson's entire career.
Nicklaus won 4 after the age of 36. Tiger needs one more than that.
Yes, Tiger was more dominant in his prime, but I think a big part of that is that Nicklaus played against much higher level competition, playing against some of the other all-time greats, which is why he also has so many 2nd place finishes.
If Tiger starts battling chronic injuries, I just don't see it.
Total nonsense... Jack's competition was weaker if anything compared to what Tiger has competed against. Look up some facts. I love Jack also, but the competition aspect was not a factor.
He's just not good enough
"I am leaving it as I found it. Take over. It's yours."
And by the way - on the subject of Jack and Tiger and golf - is the Masters and Augusta National becoming a sellout? I see where some of the new members in recent years are Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, T Boone Pickens, and strangely, Lynn Swann
Used to be an exclusive old money fraternity there, but I guess times change.
