Two weeks from today, the NCAA seeding goes out. If you look at the 3/2 News links on the front page and the Plain Dealer links, you have Lundardi, Palm (this guy is squirrely with his bowl picks as well), USA Today and one other.
Most have OSU as a 5/6 seed now from 3/1 predicitons, but teams like Butler, Arizona, Syracuse and a few others ahead of us lost already this weekend.
Michigan loses today and to Indiana next weekend, and at Purdue is no gimme, we should jump them, that Penn State loss will sting with a few more.
Wisconsin goes to MSU this week, root for Sparty. Wisconson only beat Penn State by 9 at home, and ends up at Penn State to close the season, who just beat Michigan at home.
I think if OSU goes 1-1 this week, with a close loss at IU and a nice win at tourney bound Illinois, then we stay with the 4 seed in the Big Ten tourney and win that, we end up a 4 seed.
Kansas and Duke look like potential #1 seeds now, those are not bad losses. More teams will lose from here on out, and the Big Ten is the best conference out there.
What says you? I think OSU goes 2-1 thru next Friday in the Big Ten tourney and sits at 23-8 with a 12-6 Big Ten record and other teams falling, a #4 seed is there for OSU. We beat Illinois at home (NCAA bound) and keep the #4 seed we have right now in the Big Ten tourney and beat #5 Michigan (plays the day before, fatigue factor there) Friday, that is two more quality wins on OSU's resume as well.
Indiana looked like a tired team that faced a lot of tough and rugged opponents lately in that tough stretch of games they played, Iowa gave them all they could handle at IU and if they converted more inside bunnies, that game was up for grabs. Lets see what happens at IU Tuesday night as well, we can play loose and should be more rested, we are not expected to win, so let it rip.

I am predicting us as a 5 seed right now. I am counting on just a loss to IU to close out the regular season. If we get the 4 seed in the B1G tourney and win two games, I could see us leaping to a 4 seed in the NCAA tourney. That would likely require us to beat IU though. Although any win against IU (conference or B1G tourney) would give us a compelling argument for a 4 seed.

he wouldn't let his players pose in the Playboy All-American magazine edition, he said, "Cause you can't play football with an erection."
#4 seed with two wins in the B1G tourney, 5 seed with only one win. We really, really don't want that five seed given the 5 vs.12 history of upsets. But quite honestly, NOT getting a top four seed would be a underachievement for this team. You can't tell me we're not of at least the top 16 teams in America given the body of work. A win vs the flopping Crean's on Tuesday and who knows though.
5 seed.. would like to see a win at Indy but we will need a perfect game to do so.
5 unless win at IU or win the B1G Tournament which will move us to 4.
4 seed assuming a loss at Indiana, win at home versus Illinois, and one win in the B1G tourney.
Results of B1G tourney games beyond the quarterfinals rarely have any effect on seeding. The committee has to have the top 4 seeds in each region pretty much locked in by Saturday afternoon.
Last year was the one notable exception with the committee having two brackets completely filled out, one for OSU winning the B1G tourney, the second one for MSU winning.
After the Duke game, I said we would be either a 4 or 5 seed.
It depends on how we do the last 2 games and the Big X tourney.
If we win the Big X tourney, we could get a 3 seed.
Best case (realistic) scenario our NCAA seed is a 4; worst case a 5.
Kirk Herbstreit . . . . is that you?
