Regardless of the seed (most likely 4-6) our chances of going anywhere will depend on who we draw and the match-up.
I would be very happy with a sweet 16 appearance......not that i would be jumping for joy if we lose at some point.
I will save most of my speculating when the dust settles and we know where we stand.
I will say a four seed. I think we finish with the five seed in the big ten tourney, which should provide for a cheap win against Penn st. Depending on matchups we could get by the four with IU lurking. That would give us a total of three more wins (assuming we beat Illinois at home) and a 23-9 record. My guess is that the committee is looking at Indiana as a virtual 1 lock. After that I would say one spot in mind for a 2 seed, one for a three, a four, and a five. If four teams end up tied for second, which is possible maybe likely, I think the big ten tourney holds more weight than in previous years. To me the tourney is the only way to distinguish between OSU, Mich, Mich St. And Wisc. as far as seeding in the NCAA is concerned. My guess is that IU gets a one, Mich St. gets a two, Mich gets a three, we get a four, and Wisc. gets a five in the NCAA's. I would also expect to see Illinois and Minnesota somewhere in the 8-10 range.
I'm guessing a #4 or 5 if we split the next 2 vs. Indiana & Illinois and win at least the 1st and 2nd round of the B1G Ten BB Tourney!
