could not disagree with you any more. the tide defense will do exactly what OSU di a few years back
"Leaders & Legends? Really? How about just name the divisions, Ohio State & everyone else." -Colin Cowherd
Nope...they will run and throw all day on Oregon...and Bama won't get gashed running right all night. They will actually contain the edges and force Oregon inside.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
We are coming for you Bama!
USCs O is far better than Bamas.
They are a better passing team but Alabama is much better rushing team. Those backs are sick and very physical. Alabama would use ball control and smash mouth football to keep the Oregon offense off the field. Oregon doesn't like physical teams which is why they lose to them.
I disagree - USC has much better receivers than BAMA but when you play real football not like the track meet's they play in the PAC-10 where no one plays a lick of defense, the games are won in the trenches where USC is actually very bad (see STanford game) and BAMA is elite with 2 guys who will get drafted in the first round next April to go along with the best guard in the country. USC does not have one O-lineman who would start at Alabama. I just can't buy Oregon until they beat a team that has a legit defense which they never have in the Chip Kelly era.
I respect your opinion on Oregon beating BAMA - I would love to see that game.
Alabama's QB went 3 and out like 5 times in a row against LSU. If they do that against Oregon once or twice they are in trouble. Hell, LSU's QB threw all over the Tide, and he has sucked all year. This Oregon team is better than any they have ever had. Bama is not nearly as good as I thought. There are holes in that team. Hell, they may lose to A and M for Pete's sake.
I hope we get a shot to see that game and ND doesn't magically get a title shot. I would love to see if Oregon can score like they do in the PAC against a good defense. Your right in that BAMA's defense didn't look as good as they usually do last night.
Bro, hook me up with the ganja you are smoking. Bama would CRUSH Oregon. Yes Oregon can score points. They have always been able to score points. They can't stop anybody with real talent. Their Defense is an absolute joke. SC went up and down the field on them. What do you think Bama will do. With Lacy and Yeldon BAMA will play PHYSICAL smash mouth football and punch the Ducks in the mouth like every SEC team does.
IMO this Oregon team is no different then the rest. All style. NO substance. Not to mention the Ducks lost their best pass rusher and defensive player for what looks to be an extended period of time.
Furthermore, are you really going to bet against Nick Saban after having a month to prepare for them?
It would be worse...
Bama's D didn't look "as good as usual" because LSU has a great Oline & RB talent and their QB played his best game ever. Though I would like too see Bama get beat by Oregon, it won't happen.
Oregon's missing link is big uglies on D and power back when needed.
ND will get beat by USC. Kansas St will lose if Klien is out long term.
Doesn't matter though. Oregon will finish #2 and play Bama.
I watched the Oregon-USC game and say what you want about USC defense but they had no answer for Barner.
I can see Bama holding on to the ball and keeping the Oregon offense on the sideline but I dont see how Bama stops Oregon on a regular basis or how they score enough points. USC stopped Oregon twice the whole night. 12 possessions and 9 TDs, 1 missed FG, a punt and an unforced fumble QB/Rb exchange. (not counting unforced error as a stop).
Even if Bama cuts that to 8 possessions through clock management, can they score 35-42 points against Oregons defense because I promise this Oregon offense will score 60-70% of the time.
I will take this bet any day of the week. Oregon gets exposed every year with their flashy Offense and no defense. This is a very average USC team that has lost every game against teams with a pulse.
Every year Oregon gets beat down in Bowl games cause they can't put those points up on real teams. They would get CRUSHED by Bama.
Ill bet youre one of the guys who thinks that Bama could beat an NFL team.
