This is probably the best post I've seen since signing day. The fact that we may start to deploy the speed in a 3/4 is a big deal.
Now the way they align isn't that much different as some posters have commented but what you do with them is. We have included elements of the 3/4 but still kept things within the 4/3 context.
Either scheme works you just have to have the players to run it
The 4/3 is more inside out, and works to the edges. We have recruited a ton of OLBs, WDEs and hybrids to attack off the edge and the 4/3 has to pull the OLB off the field for the spread and passing downs.
Certainly OSU runs a hybrid form of the 4/3, and it looks like we are moving to a hybrid form of the 3/4 ... the difference is subtle but it should let us take better advantage of the talent on the roster.
