If we're gonna have any chance this season, he has to be a part of it... Period.... Our offense, outside of DT, is, pun-intended, offensive... Regardless of what Q lacks defensively, he has to be on the floor... I've posted here before, if he isn't a big part of our team this year, it's gonna be a disappointing year
Our coach knows more about the game than you do.
Tell me, why did no one complain about his playing time when he got 3 minutes against Michigan? Because we won. He played as much today as he has all Big 10 season, didn't produce while he was on the floor, and now you're clamoring for him to get more time? We lost the game to a good team, that's all. Stop trying to rationalize it any other way because you're failing miserably.
When offense isn't our main problem (Michigan game for 30 mins), Ross obviously isnt as valuable... But each game stands on its own, and if offense is at a premium (tonite, Kansas, duke), Ross has to have the opportunity to have a larger role...I obviously don't have the insight Matta has, but i pay a few bucks a year to voice my opinion, so if you don't agree with me, don't read me or downvote me...
I thought his 5 first half points when he got minutes were a contribution. Didn't that tie for second in scoring?
Guy has to play as long as you still win by scoring the most points.
Q is playing on egg shells right now scared to make any mistakes for fear of being benched.
Apparently EVERYBODY else on the team is allowed to make mistakes except him.
Everybody else can commit stupid turnovers , commit stupid fouls , have bad shooting nights & their playing time stays exactly the same. GOD forbid Q commits 1 foul or has 1 turnover or 1 missed shout & the damn world comes to a end.
His confidence is shot.

I would love for Q to be the answer and yes, I think his confidence is shot. But it sure ain't the coaches' fault he looks lost and dribbles the ball aimlessly and commits multiple turnovers. He makes more than his share of boneheaded crap and plays lousy D so he gets what he deserves... which unfortunately leaves us without another scorer.
My favorite quote "the coach knows more than you do". Oh, in that case someone tell all of the subscribers not to discuss anything regarding decisions made by the coach. This should really clean up the boards by the way.
For God's sake that what 90 % of us do after a win or loss. But welcome to real world now that you have crawled out from under that big rock.
Q can ball, his problem is defense. He is such a terrible liability on defense, which I can't uderstand considering his body type. Anyway, if he can learn both sides of the ball he could be unstoppable. If you can't play D for Matta, you won't play. Look at DT! He has been the best offensive player on the team for two years and got benched because he couldn't play D...I personally like Matta's insistence that you play D or you don't play...
Who is Q? I'm lost here.
We may have lost the battle......but not the war.
We needed offense against MSU and you know what? Q got minutes. Don't blame the coach (who put him in the game for his ability to score) for the fact that he had limited production, he was obviously part of the game plan and I'm sure he will continue to be going forward.
Q played all of 11 minutes and was 2-3 shooting with 5 points 2 rbs and 1 to. His 5 points was second on the team until Smith was finally able to kick one in with 11 seconds to go. Smiths #'s were 2-8 shooting with 6. Pts and 3 To's in 30 minutes. Smith's #'s actually scream non-production, or look at the box scores for Thompson or Williams. If Q plays 20 minutes like I suggested he would project to 10 pts 4 rebounds and 2 To's. I realize that is just projection, but one more 3 pointer yesterday and we very easily win that game
agree 100% Other than DT, Q is the only pure scorer we have. Outside of DT nobody else on the team can score consistently. DT and Q have never seen a shot they don't like. The D will come with more PT for Q. Right now his offense is needed
Ross didn't produce when he was on the floor?
He had 5 points and 3 rebounds in 11 minutes.
That's a significantly better ratio than Thompson, 3 points, 1 rebound in 20 minutes and Smith Jr., 6 points, 2 rebounds in 30 minutes. Not to mention the repeated blunders each of them had not blocking out, allowing us to get murdered on the glass 45 to 34.
Try using some facts before you spout off what you clearly do not know.
Do you guys actually watch Q play defense? He looked like he was trying to get out of the other team's way, not play defense.
I have missed about 5 total minutes of game this season. The thought that his man just scores on him at will is a complete myth. He certainly needs work on the defensive end but he is adequate. This is the same garbage that everyone jumped on with Thomas. He was not a good defender, but he was responsible for more points than he gave up. That is the main goal for every player if all 8 or 9 guys are + then you win. People just act like Ross is a revolving door that can stop anybody which isn't true at all.
