So the Raiders QB situation and TP's chances at starting are beginning to clarify.
Carson Palmer is out of the picture, and I would guess that this trade means the Raiders are not going to draft Geno Smith although I don't know.
So if TP wants to start, he'll have to beat out someone who couldn't win the starting job last year over Russell Wilson.
The Oakland Raiders have an agreement in principle to acquire quarterback Matt Flynn from the Seattle Seahawks for two draft picks -- one in the 2014 draft and a conditional pick in 2015, according to league sources.
I think TP still wins the job. Hes been with the Raiders long enough to know the system.
TP looked great last game of the season. I hope he can continue to progress and become the quarterback we know he can be. He is one of the best athletes in the game IMO.
I agree they pryor has a good shot qt winning the job but I just hope he's learned how to ready a defense end how to throw consistently because that was his problems at osu. If he can then watch out because he'll be very good.
TP did not look "great" in that last game of the season. He looked pretty similar to how he did at OSU. He still does not throw with much zip. He had success by moving around, being tough to sack and throwing lots of floaters while on the move.
While that formula was enough to win that last game against mediocre competition, TP will not have consistent success in the NFL playing that way all the time. Opposition will adjust and take those things away. He still has to get better at pocket passing and putting some authority on his throws. Supposedly he has the arm strength. He just doesn't apply it.
I didn't see the game but you said TP didn't look great. Well does that mean he didn't look bad. There are alot of HOF Qb's that didn't look great until they got some experience.
I'm a Raider fan, and I'd love for TP to be the guy. Apparently, he outworks everyone in the building. With that being said, with a limited sample size, he doesn't seem to have made much progression when it comes to accuracy or reading defenses. That light may never go on for him. There's no way they were going into this season withouth bringing in another starting QB. He's still a major project.
Still not catching the ever-contagious WHINE-FLU!!!
