Your memory of the Texas vs. Bama is pretty pathetic, mighty Bama had 263 yards and 16 first downs vs. Texas.
263 total yards and 16 yards vs. a team that turned it over 5 times with back up QB Gilbert and punted a lot as well, very impressive offensive stats. That mighty Bama offense you note vs. Texas, 2 for 12 on third downs, real impressive.
Bama ran roughshod over Texas, really? 263 yards and 2 for 12 on third downs is running rough shod over someone?
The big story was 5 TO's by back up QB Gilbert, one fumble and 4 interceptions. No, McCoy out did not mean a thing, it mean everything.
Texas had more yards than Bama, with a back up QB and 5 TO's, your revisionist history needs a little revisiting.
Texas was up 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, and in the second quarter Gilbert's TO follies did them in, but he did lead a late charge and almost brought Texas back.
All your what if's, there is an old saying, if "if and but's were candy and nuts, every day would be Xmas." Merry Xmas.

Fritz_jones forgets in 2010 pur DBs were falling like flies, Chekwa our #1 CB went down, we were down to back ups..
The reason why the WRs couldnt catch is cause they were being hit hard wherher they caught it or not.. If they had been catching in the tough SEC all year long how did they forget to catch in a bowl game
And we got lucky in that Game.. Really ? I dont think being up 28-10 by 1st half is lucky.. That 2010 team was JJ Watt & a special teams blunder away from playing for the title...
Why are you even s fan if you think the team has no hope , and if they win, the got lucky
Too logical, too obvious, too simple, therefore unacceptable to this board...
We pretty much outgained LSU as well... and lost by two TDs. The yardage doesn't tell the whole story. Bama didn't have a ton of yards because they scored on short fields. Bama took their foot off the gas in that game. I like your statement about "IFs" because it plays right into my argument that there are A LOT of things that need to happen for OSU to be ready to beat Bama this season.
Yeah, Bama's offense was dominant like you noted.
The facts I presented made you out to be pinnochio. Bama's offense was inept that game, the stats proved it.
A back up QB and all his turnovers did Texas in, and Texas was ahead when McCoy went out.
Keep making excuses, they go with your if's and what if's.
The McCoy injury turned the whole game, no matter how much you delusionally try and spin it, and Bama's offense pretty much stunk that night. The stats I provided proved it.
Show me some facts like I presented with the stat line? Oh, I cannot, it is a "what if" scenario in your make believe world.

That's a good point you make. We didn't have the depth at DB then just like we don't have the depth overall to beat Bama this year. An injury at any number of positions for us spells doom against a high caliber opponent. Those guys weren't dropping balls because they were being hit hard, they were all alone when they dropped most of them. Probably more a case of being nervous in a BCS bowl. Yes, we did get lucky considering we were up 28-10 and had to have a last second redzone INT to win 31-26. Arkansas WRs dropped at least two sure TDs.
Again, I love how you guys argue by putting words in people's mouths. Who ever said that we have no hope? I said that I don't think we will be where we need to be to beat Bama by the NCG this year... does that sound like me saying we have no hope? It did feel like we got lucky a lot under Tressel considering how many games we tried to win with FG and good defense. There are many people that feel that way. I mean we once needed a 55yd FG to beat Marshall...freaking Marshall! You will find plenty of people who feel that we were very lucky to hold on against Arkansas as well.
Well since you are a stat guy and apparently that means everything and always tells the whole story about every game here goes:
-Mark Ingram runs for 122yds on only 16 carries (that's where I get "running roughshod" from)
-Alabama outgains UT 205 to 81 on the ground
-Alabama wins the TOP 33min to 26min
-Alabama scores 24pts in second qtr, up 24-6 at half
-Most importantly SCOREBOARD says 37-21.
If you watched the game you would know that Saban pulled a Tressel after half and shut it down killing momentum and limited their overall stat dominance a bit. There's your facts bro.
The back up QB Gilbert was the cause of all of that bozo, congrats.
His 5 TO's was what turned the game around, especially the second quarter.
When you have 5 TO's and multiple punts, you will not win time of possession, let alone most games Einsten.
Oh, Tressel got lucky with Tressel ball as you noted early, but Saban win with it. You are spinning so much, your pinnochio style nose is twisting.
Colt McCoy was a Heisman finalist that seasons had gawdy stats throwing and running, with low turnovers. He finishes that game, Texas probably wins.
Bama's offense stunk that game any way you spin it.
5 TO's to them, many punts, and 263 yards and 2 for 2 on 3rd down, that plain stinks.
I am sure every time Vern Lunquist, ESPN, CBS or someone mentions Bama, you have spastic gyrations and sexual inuendo's running through your head, but many of us do not, sorry.

I'm glad you ignore any facts presented to you in an argument and use the "what ifs" when it benefits your argument. What if McCoy didn't get hurt? well he did so take your what if and shove it up your ass. Texas had TWO turnovers to Alabama's one turnover in the first half and were down 24-6. So how is it that the turnovers were the only thing that allowed Alabama to score? How the hell do you know that McCoy would have done any better against Alabama's defense? He only played a qtr or less. Saban plays Tresselball when he knows he pretty much has the game in hand, Tressel does it all the time. Huge difference. It's obvious that it is pointless to argue with you because you form your opinion and ignore any facts presented in an argument against it.
I piss excellence.
