Wonder why Nick is a stone killer as a recruiter?... Check out this article from a couple of years ago....
This week WFTV-TV in Orlando reported details of Alabama's upcoming Capital One bowl preparation plans.
Despite what are apparently sub-standard facilities, the Crimson Tide will hold practice at O
They cheat. Saban isn't some stone cold killer in recruiting. Alabama has paid players in the past....recent past. They are paying players again.
Saban was a .500 coach when he was at MSU getting his teeth kicked in at bowl games. He had one good season and he bolted for LSU. Same thing at LSU. He won more but would still get blown out in conference and lose bowl games. He back doored a national title game by avoiding the team who would've kicked the living shit out of LSU in USC that year and managed to draw everyones favorite bowl game whipping boy Oklahoma.
So now he comes to Alabama after 20+ years of coaching and FINALLY figures it all out and is some coaching God? No. Alabama is straight up paying players. Paying them. Its not a secret. They cheat to win because they know in their own minds they cannot win on their own merit. That is the mentality of a cheater. Not only ARE they a loser but in their own minds they know they are a loser do to them resorting to cheating.

"The only thing That Team Up North will be tasting this year is the salty tears of defeat" - UFM
yeah but you have to pay the right players though.. scouting and evaluation..
Too logical, too obvious, too simple, therefore unacceptable to this board...
Is there any successful program other than OSU that you don't think is cheating?
I'm not saying osu hasn't done anything wrong but there are degrees of cheating like there are degrees in breaking the law.
Osu got busted for jaywalking. Bama is guilty of murder. For all of the people here who can't tell the difference between the two id ask you to visit a death row.

We really need to get off the "they're cheating" mantra. We all end up sounding like huge babies. Regardless if it's true or not, we really need to just let it go.
I will for a second consider your premise (but only a second). Can you offer up some sort of tangible proof that this not only goes on only at Alabama but that it is as pervasive as you imply? I would love to see some credible source that backs this up.
My guess and please refute me if I am wrong, is that the standard defense to my question will be, "If you can't see they are paying players at Alabama, then you are blind." So, now that I have taken that off the table, again, I would love to see some tangible evidence that Alabama not only does this on a regular basis but also has some sort of monopoly as it pertains to the alleged "cheating".
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I would love to see evidence of what you are insinuating here. Or is this just the world according to you and others that think like you?
I have asked countless times on this board for credible evidence to back up these assertions that keep popping up. I have yet to see any. My guess is there really isn't any other than hearsay which in turn would have your alleged murderer's case thrown out of court.
You are welcome to believe whatever you wish. Reality is not contingent upon one's choice to believe or not. Reality simply is.
3 out of the last 4 national titles from a coach who has NEVER had a run of success like that in over 20 years of coaching. I suppose you think Alabama is just that good?
I would respectfully ask, is that your evidence? I am just curious, that is all. You make some serious allegations and I would like to see factual evidence that supports what you and others are claiming. I don't think that is much to ask.
So, did Tom Osborne cheat? He has a similar run in the 90's. Are you suggesting that every Nebraska player back then received cash? Did Urban Meyer cheat at Florida? He had a similar run not too long ago. Were they paying players?
Why can't a guy like Nick Saban find a situation where everything clicks? Bill Belichick is a horrible coach? I have read books on players getting cars and cash and all sorts of things back when Woody was at OSU. Was he a cheater?
I am not trying to pick on you personally. I am a little fed up with what seems to be envy or jealousy with Alabama. They are having a great run right now and so it should be appreciated for what it is. CB is cyclical and I don't see this lasting forever. But if you can actually PROVE that they cheat to the degree you claim, I am all ears and will change my point of view on this matter.
I'm sure the skepticism comes from the fact that Bama or LSU can get in on any recruit and win out 90%of the time. In any given area of the country. At any given time, and become a front runner.
Look at the recruitment of Vonn Bell, Mark Ingram, Trey DePriest, Robert Nkemdiche, etc.
Or when OSU was recruiting Pocic, his top 3 was Penn St, OSU and scUM. He takes one visit down south and commits on the spot to LSU.
Lewis Neal, OSU commit, LSU offers....... LSU bound.
Henry Poggi, has an excellent game at the UU All-American game, completely set himself apart from the rest, Alabama then gets involved at the latest point in the process ever........ now what most buckeye fans want, and most scUM fans expect, due to the history and statistics of these situations, is that Poggi is now Bama bound. HHHHHMMMMMM........gets peoples wheels turnin.
#1. Michigan doesn't have the same recruiting ground as Alabama by far,
#2. Michigan State will never have the prestige and tradition Alabama has.
#3. Alabama has lots more money than Michigan State, therefore agreeing to pay their OC's and DC's more, thus landing top quality assistants and coaches.
Its a cash business. There will never be "evidence".
3 out of the last 4 national titles is not something where "everything clicks". Ever since the scholarship reduction came into play there has been a parity in college football. The few elite teams were not able to stockpile talent anymore. The only time that parity has been broken is due to two things. A team has recruited a dominant player who throws off the balance or they are cheating and amassing an advantage.
When you look back in history at successful runs by teams you can point your finger at certain dominant players. Osbourne had Frazier. Meyer had Tebow. And when these players left, they didn't dominate like they had in the past.
Saban has coached for over 30 years. He has never even sniffed this kind of success. He has done it with multiple teams and massive personel turn around. Coaches get lucky and have a good run. Nobody is this good. And how do we know it? Because we can see patterns, have a historical record to pull on and have the intelligence to know that there is a cause and effect.
Respectfully I applaud your ability to ignore all the things going on and just focus only on a smoking gun when it comes to cheating because for me it is ruining college football.
But I don't get into the business of "convincing people". That implies I have some sort of mind control powers. People choose what to believe. People chose to believe that Bill Walton was a coaching genius at UCLA and all his consecutive national titles were legit. Hell, there are still people today who believe that in spite of a mountain of facts and personal testimony to the contrary. People believe the holocaust was faked. People believe the moon landing was faked on a hollywood set.
Saban has been playing fast and loose with the rules since he coached at Toledo. Let's not be naive here.
I miss my Kate Upton Picture
It's a lot easier when you have 25 commits to fill 12 roster spots. Hit on 50% and you've got a team of all-stars.
I am not saying you are wrong. Honestly I don't know. That said, what makes you think Saban cheats and is paying players? This is the same logic I hear about Cal and his UK talent pool.
Bama does not need to cheat to land top talent. Just like Cal doesn't need to cheat. Right now, these programs are recruiting themselves.
People around the BIG make these same silly comments about Meyer. Just because you have the best product to sell and are very good at doing that does not make you a cheater.
Look at Bama's roster. It is heavy on kids from Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana. It's not like he is reaching across the Country. He is recruiting his own back yard and has a pretty compelling story.
I am not ignoring anything. Your original assertion is that Alabama is cheating (paying players) and only they are doing it in such a way that NO OTHER institution is doing. Then, you directly associate this alleged cheating to Saban. I am asking for evidence, not conjecture. But it appears that you are not in the business of supplying that information. That is fine, then more than likely we will continue to disagree.
P.S. I believe the coach at UCLA was John Wooden and he was a coaching genius. Bill Walton is a moron but good basketball player.
Right On, Mutha Fu*ker, Right On. (couldn't help myself). Thanks, Texas, I went into brain fade and could only remember Adolf Rupp. Now on with the show!
..pay forward ........................................he made them pay...............................he'll make them pay again and again
Hating scUM since 1964
Got my named mixed up. Of course it was Wooden. Had the best teams money could buy. Before they paid their players to come, he hadn't won anything either. It was Walton who was the whistle blower. Then it all came down from the newspaper investigation in the matter. Wooden won because UCLA bought their teams.
Well, when that happens at Alabama, I will give you your just dues. Until then, you accusations are subjective at best. But I get it...
