Hearing a lot of buzz he may jump ship and go to UT... Anyone have any knowledge or sources surrounding this situation? TOS has a link on their home page
they may offer him 8-10 mil year.. and this year will be the longest hes been in 1 place... never know. Why not be a legend everywhere
He isn't going anywhere. Why rebuild a lame duck program when he can keep a well oiled machine humming? Plus, Alabama can and will match the money UT throws up. BTW, his wife loves Tuscaloosa!
I couldn't find fault in either decision he would make if this were true. It would have to be tough to leave Alabama after all his success, but man he could do some damage if he had free reign to recruiting in Texas along with his national pull.
You ain't ball'n if your block O isn't fitted.
Never.... its not his nature. Besides Texas would still be cream of the crop but Mack doesnt croot... the days of mailing out LOI's and waiting for faxes are over. Saban would demolish Texas,, AND the other places he's recruited. He sells as good as anyone.
Sabin isn't leaving the SEC for another college gig.
Way too many restrictions at a place like Texas.
I agree devidee. No oversigning/gray-shirting/cutting players, etc. People would see the mediocre coach that he is when he doesn't have those benefits.
And I shall rejoice in victory for another 365 days over That School Up North.
Look at the facts. Saban is 61 years old and will be 62 this year. He could take over the big12 effortlessly compared to fighting tooth and nail in the SE3 every season. Texas is a top 2 talent rich football state in the county and UT would pay major dollars for him to go there. Austin is much more appealing than Tuscaloosa. Their are so many reason to go. Coaches are super competitive and always looking for a new challenge.

Here's a challenge...become a bigger legend than Bear Bryant. He's on his way. Texas can't offer that or anything close to it. Alabama can go dollar for dollar with UT. I don't see him leaving.
Does his system of over signing/gray shirting/cutting players help? Of course.
But to say Saban is mediocre is laughable. He is the best coach in CFB.
Saban's won big at LSU and Bama. He's been mediocre everywhere else.
Saban's agent floats a rumor...Bama offers up a raise and an extension. All this completed within a 14 hour news cycle.
Hating scUM since 1964
Come one people. I have no lover for Saban but anyone that says he could not win at UT without "oversigning" or SEC cheating, is smoking crack. Period. Saban could absolutely dominate at UT. Weaker conference, better local talent pool and a huge budget. Let's not get silly.
In addiiton to those items, his wife may like Tuscaloosa (although I am not sure why) Austin is light years nicer. Yes I've been to both.
The other big thing here is what is left to do at Bama? Anything short of immediate NC's is a step back. Going to UT and building another winner is something ANY ambitious Executive or Coach would do. You never want to take a job at it's peak. You take one that needs a tweak or rebuilding and make it your own. You move on when done. That's what elite leaders do.
If UT comes after Saban, I would not be shocked at all if he took the job and neither should anyone else.
Yep, and the ONLY reason he wins at Alabama is over signing.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
trolling is an unhealthy habit.
This will be just like what Les Miles did to get more money out of LSU. Saban will pretend to be interested in Texas and then get a monster raise from Alabama. Saban is not going anywhere.
For some, for others it is a blatant advantage...
Why leave?? He's a legend in Bama (behind Bryant) and got a pocket full of money already. Texas, being in a lower rated league, might be a step down.

No one has claimed that. His record is what it is.
