Speed, handles, vision. The shot will come with time. If marquis league had shannons role, he would be doing the same. Also, Scott would be thriving in teagues role with all that talent.
He has the ability..just be patient. Hes a buckeye guys!
Everybody complained about diebler as a frosh. I'd say he turned out to be a pretty valuble buckeye
I like his upside as well in the long term but he is far from having the most potential as a frosh.
Burke is heads and tails above him right now. Tony Wroton out of Washingtonas well. Marquis Teague can seriously shoot the Ball, Scott cant seem to get in an offensive flow and get his feet set for the shot. Hope that will come as you mentioned.
Can you imagine if we had Burke rather than Scott? Three from the best city in the nation from the same HS team working for a BIg Ten Title!
I don't see the upside... Speed, handles, and vision? Thats what every D1 PG should have, thats nothing special at all. He clearly lacks experience as many freshman do but he looks like a backup out there. He doesn't come in for Craft and take control of the offense and keep it going as he should. He should be breaking people down off the dribble and kicking to open guys a lot more than he does. He doesn't shoot the ball well either, I have no idea why Matta would play him and Craft at the same time seeing as neither are very reliable from the outside.
I liked the two of them on the floor at the same time if for nothing else but to give other teams something to think about. This team's problem is that if our offense gets in a rut, they can't find a way out. Throwing those two out there together shakes things up and forces other teams to adjust to us.
Adjust to what though? They can sag into the lane and not worry about any outside shooting... Craft isnt the quickest PG and never really breaks people down off the dribble. Scott is quicker and should do it more. I just don't see the advantage we have with 2 non scorers on the floor in the backcourt. This team lacks scorers as it is. I'd play Ross a little more, he looked decent out there offensively. Defensively? I see why he isn't out there much... He reminds me of Thomas last year. As soon as he hits the floor he wants to shoot lol.. I like that mentality better than the one Buford has though, which is tentative and not very confident at the moment.
Wow, you really don't see the upside to Scott? You may just want to quit watching basketball all together, because you clearly don't know much about it.
I thought it was a nice shake up as well. Seems we pushed the ball up court harder after Illinois misses last night. We got a few easy transition buckets. I like them getting the ball up court before the defense has a chance to get set.
he wouldn't let his players pose in the Playboy All-American magazine edition, he said, "Cause you can't play football with an erection."
