Usually the state track meet gets covered some here because of the football commits that are competing or undergraduate prospects that are playing. is anyone from Bucknuts or fellow Bucknutters heading down to Jesse Owen Stadium this weekend? i think the prelims started today.

@MChungOZone: Parris Campbell ran 100m in 10.7s. First in his heat.
Helwagen and Gary are there..
Paris was 3 for 3 making finals... but he got carted off after the 4x100 and is uncertain for tomorrow... he won his 100 semi in 10.77
@garyhouse2: Campbell was a scratch in the 200.He was carted off the track after the 4x100 and is reportedly a question for participation on Saturday!
@RyanLewisABJ: St. V-M's Parris Campbell aggravated his right knee but will run with a brace in three events tomorrow. Was forced to miss the 200.
@RyanLewisABJ: Talked with St. V coach Dan Lancianese. Says Campbell's knee had flared up recently, wasn't worried when it happened. He should be fine
I did start a thread a week or so ago, but it's probably buried now. I predicted that there would be some blazing times if weather cooperated and we are off to a fast start in the prelims today in D1. In the first heat, the qualifiers for the finals are 1. Riak Reese (Gahanna Lincoln) 10.41, 2. Anthony Young (St. Edward - Indiana football) 10.59, 3. Phillip Motley (Hilliard Davidson) 10.63, 4. Malcolm Johnson (Sylvania Southview) 10.67, 5. Shelton Gibson (Cleveland Hgts. - WVU football) 10.74, and 6. Dekan Ekpo (Beavercreek) 10.76. This first heat was blazing, but the wind was slightly over legal levels at 3.4m/s. In heat 2, moving on to the finals are 1. Shaun Crawford (St. Edward - OSU target) 10.54, . Khoury Crenshaw (Solon - UM track) 10.58, and 3. Devohn Jackson (Cin, Northwest) 10.74. Heat 2 was running with a legal wind making Crawford's 10.54 VERY impressive.
As previously noted, Parris Campbell took first in his heat with a 10.77 and a legal tailwind.

Wow! That is a hell of a field to run those times across the board! That's six guys under 10.7! The finals should be something else.
One of the faster fields in recent memory. Every kid ran a 10.9 or better in both heats. It's rare when a 10.77 doesn't qualify you for the finals in D1.
Conley done after finishing 8th in his 400 prelim lee's 4x100 relay team qualified for finals that's it for today
