Would you still consider this season a success if we were to lose Saturday?
No, beating Michigan makes the season a success. If we lose, then it is a failure.
Loss equals a 100% failure of a season.
Is John Cooper considered a success or failure?
Hell no, it's not a success. If we lose to those pukes, then that makes this season even worse than normal failures because it means we let those bastards ruin a perfect season. 2012 would forever be tainted in that situation. So let's hope Urban has some tricks up his sleeves and gives us the end to a perfect season as opposed to a really bad one.
Oh absolutely, it's a success.
This team went 6-7 last year. Let me say that again, 6-7 last year! They had no "good" head coach, we were in disarray all season long, we were and still are a little bit maligned in the media and overall considered a bad team lucky to have more than 5 wins. We were inept on offense and as a result it wore down our defense from being on the field so long that even the defense started to look bad.
Then Meyer came along and that changed everything in a flash, we the best recruiting class we've had in 3 or 4 years, there became more positive buzz about this team than last year, a new more impressive and explosive offense was installed. A coach let everyone know he cares about winning more than anything, he recruits like it as well, and now this team is undefeated through 11 games during a season that no matter what they won, they cannot go to a bowl game, with a chance to seal the deal for an undefeated season against our most hated rival.
Now if you don't think that this season is a success, no matter who you are, then you're just dumb. I hate Michigan as much as they next guy and it would KILL me if we lost to them but losing to them again this year doesn't wipe away all of the success we've had this year nor does it change the fact that next year we'll likely start in the Top 5 in the polls and be poised to get to the National title game.
