The closest that I will ever get to a Buckeye ring or Gold Pants. Saw it sold on e-bay April 29, 2011 for $8500.
Here's the deal about JoPa as it relates to this: Did he know about the skeletons in Sandusky's closet? Of course he did. Otherwise, don't you think he would have stepped in and demanded to know why his star defensive coordinator was suddenly "retiring" at the peak of his career? Paterno absolutely knew.
Will it ever be proven that Paterno knew? No. Absolutely not. It will not be proven. But anyone with common sense knows he knew. Yeah, he's just going to be cool with his D-coordinator stepping down without asking any questions or getting to the bottom of it.
That said, Paterno is not at trial here nor should he be. Sandusky is the criminal. And there are others that flat-out helped cover it up. All I'm saying about Paterno is he knew something about Sandusky's transgressions due to the surprise retirement after the '99 season.
BTW: In case Jerry Sandusky didn't already look creepy enough ... there is the whole thing about his teeth. Dude couldn't find time to go to an orthodontist. Oh, I guess he did other things in his spare time.
He's at least known ever since McQueary walked in on JS and the boy in the shower. ANY contact between JS and kids from that point on should have raised a red flag. Any decent human adult should have questioned why he was still around kids. Saying JoePa told his superiors and that that was the end of his responsibility is just not good enough. He was the face of that program and university, he had to do better.
It's only first day of court - I'm dry heaving already. Damn. I'm sure others are throwing in the towel already.
I really hope it is over soon but with publicity, someone would try milk it out toward long court to his/her benefits. Maybe Sandusky's lawyer.
We are in long dry heaving period!
north till ya smell it, west till ya step in it.
