Some of us had a good discussion about the US National Soccer team tonight. Thought I would start up a thread about the other futbol. What is your favorite team? Your most disliked team? Perhaps you would just like to have a lively debate about the most followed sport in the world. All soccer/football/futbol/fussball/futebol/calcio discussions here.

Someone in the other thread said arsenal was in a downward spiral? Some of the best young talent in the world in wilshire, Walcott, chamberlain, and Ramsey. Figures that came from a Tottenham supporter. Sorry arsenal took your town :(
I did say go Spurs in my post, so yes i like tottenham unless a san antonio fan entered the conversation. The windows for them finish above arsenal are small. It was open last year and the blew it. Probably is open this year too. The downward spiral part....just being hopeful. Look, if arsenal isn't competitive in paying guys, those guys won't be around when they start to dominate. Where's RVP now?
Lol he's with Man U. It right about them paying there guys, but they do have the young talent.
The big problem with Arsenal is we never pay are players. We get them young and on the cheap. When it comes time for a new deal, that young newly developed talent goes else where.
Mainly to Manchester City!!!!
I HATE CHELSEA
That is all!
Ha ha they put a number on spurs today. My boy Sturridge with that goal at the end! My boys won today too! Good day in futbol. Hala Madrid!

Liverpool had a big win today. If the browns win tomorrow I could go 3 and 0 for the weekend!
Favorites: Brasil, Flamengo and Barca (because of the Brazilian Rs).
Most disliked: Anyone who beats Brasil.
Ronaldinho is the most talented player i've ever seen, but Messi may be the greatest. Romario was the best scorer, and Maradona was the biggest cheat. Spain and Barca are not the same. Brasil is the greatest futebol playing nation. And FIFA rankings mean nothing. England is perennially overrated. Neymar is the new Garrincha. Oscar the new Zico. Juventus is a results machine. As is Corinthians. Chelsea is a more enjoyable watch than Arsenal. Thierry Henry is the greatest English Premier League player ever. The Bundesliga is the best run soccer league. Team Germany is as soft as tissue paper. A South American country will win in 2014. And the World Cup in Brasil will be the greatest ever played.
Don't really have a favorite team, other than rooting for the US in international play. But I do love me some "footy on the box" now and then.
I'd like to see anyone but Man U win the EPL. Also, Aston Villa, Randy Lerner's team, is just above the relegation line. LOL!
For those who didn't know, today was the round of 16 draw for the Champions League. Some great matchups, headlined by Man U against Real Madrid. Personally the Shakhtar vs Dortmund matchup is my favorite. Lots of attacking talent in that matchup.

Col crew needs a billionaire to buy the team and start buying more talent and keeping tge talent they have.
USA is getting better we just need some more you g talented defenders to step up
I like man u it's too bad they can't get Ronaldo back
I like Barca because of Messi simPly the best.
AC Milan what the hell were they thinking?
Also I never liked futbol till my kids started playing
These are the ones I liked. And can't wait to watch arsenal get hammered.
I just don't understand all of the different leagues. I hear about the premier league the champions league and I just get confused so I've never picked a team but I do like the crew locally and my wife and I enjoy those games. I get how crazy soccer fans are though as I've also been to a game in colombia too.
Every European country has a league. The premiere league (English premiere league, EPL, Barclays premiere league are other names for it) is the English league which includes Manchester United, Chelsea, arsenal. La Liga is the Spanish national league with Barcelona, Real Madrid, etc.
The Champions League is basically an all European championship tournament taking the best teams from each national league in Europe. If you are a top finisher in your national league, you get to play in the Champions League the following season. Think of the Champions League as more of a tournament then an actual league.
Hope that helps. I just started watching 2 years ago and love it.
Every country just about has a Leauge but champions Leauge takes all tge best teams from that area: uefa Europe, in America's we have concaf which I hope the crew gets back in sometime soon
Hey Penn st board has a nice soccer thread going on over there
