Given it's Ohio State, figured this would start to get some national run ...
Aaaaaaaaaannnndddd. Weeeeeeeerrreeeee ooooffffffffffffff!!!!
If anyone has a problem with this, then they need to direct their anger at the NCAA. They are the ones forcing Ohio State to go to the length's that they are.
If players are taking cash on the side, why would they route it through a checking account? When they sold rings, jerseys and shoes, did the buyers write them a check and the players deposited the checks into their interest bearing money market checking accounts? Of course not - its cash or trade. Or, they buy a lockbox and keep several thousand dollars in their apartment bedroom.
I think this is a very easy way for compliance to take rather meaningless data points and presenting them as "we're doing things to improve, and we have no evidence of any athlete wrongdoing." Low risk, great media soundbites.
