If I was advising Cardale Jones, which I am not, I would advise him to transfer to Youngstown State. Sounds as if he will be a near certainty as the starter for 2014 through 2016. If he has the arm and talent that we have been told he has, he could get drafted into the NFL. If he stays at OSU, there is a great chance that he falls behind Barrett and whomever they sign for 2014 too.
As for Jordan Hall, I don't see why they would seek a Medical red shirt. Hall is not a back who can play every down, even if he is healthy. We have Smith, Dunn, Ball and Elliot. It sounds as if Elliot is exceptional and I know that Smith and Dunn can carry the load inside. Why not get Williams and groom him and Ball for the future and play the other three in 2013. I know Smith has a tendency to fumble, but he is an exceptional RB, big and pretty fast. Ditto Dunn. If Hyde leaves, we will be fine without Hall. I say think future, not just 2013.
As for Wisconsin's next Coach, Peterson would be great, but I find it hard to believe that he would want to try to compete in the Big Ten. He is great at getting his Teams prepared for one big game. But, having to get the Team prepared every week for 9 tough Big Ten games is a different story. And Wisconsin seldom gets 5 star or even 4 star recruits, which means making it work with inferior talent in a vastly more difficult Conference. Not saying we are on par with the SEC yet, but we are getting close and Peterson is smart enough to realize that. Mack makes a whole lot more sense for Wisconsin.
