I don't think we are as far away from being a NC calibre team as some may think.
Punting and punt protectiong are atrocious...this has to get shored up on the offseason.
Kick coverage and punt coverage is horrible
Kick and punt returners are mediocre
IMO Townsend will be a major upgrade at punting and I'm sure one of these athletic WR's we have coming in can make an impact on the kick return team.
Linebacker and safties need to get much better. Defense and special teams need to improve drastically in some areas before next season.
Braxton needs to improve his progression...read defenses better and improve his accuracy.
We are NC calibre in a few areas already. We have blocked 6 kicks this year...absolutely amazing. We have a NC calibre QB,RB's,WR's, TE's, and OL...we get them pretty much all back.
All in all if Braxton and the offense gets better we will be able to outscore our opponents next year until the NCG...thats right I'm calling it now.
There are areas of the defense and special teams that need major improvement. The pieces are there...I see Shazier getting better and better and thats great. We need the young guys to explode in the offseason. Getting Roby and/or Hankins back will be huge.
I want to know 10 teams anyone on the board is actually scared of? We have not even played our best game yet. Hopefully it comes against Michigan. I think we can play with anyone in the top 25. Alabama, Oregon,LSU, Georgia, Florida, and KSU are the only teams if we played our best that would still be hard to beat...I might be missing a team but I think all are beatable.
If OSU put together 4 quarters of football theyd have a shot. People act like LSU had an OOC of powerhouses.
LSU's defense would have trouble being disciplined enough to stop Miller. I still think we would lose due to our defensive woes and special teams. I think we could hang with them though.

LSU is one dimensional. We can stop the run. BM would have to perform well but I think we match up pretty well with teams like LSU.
LSU would have no answer for Braxton Miller. Defensively our front line is one of the best in the country and Mettenburg doesn't have what it takes to exploit any secondary short comings.
I'd like to see that game. Like to see them play Bama too. Don't know why some of you just think Bama or LSU would walk over Ohio State. They recruit just as well and have been the past decade. They go after the same players.
