I know it's not as cool as Vegas like a couple of the other threads...but I'm going to Toledo to hang out with an old friend in his stomping grounds. We're staying at the Park Inn and planning on heading to the Blarney's tent deal. Any other good suggestions for Saturday's Irish festivities?
That's like saying Jamarcus Russell isn't as good as Joe Montana.
Hagging out in my neck of the woods I see. Good for you! I don't usually hang out downtown for St. P day. I usually go to the local watering holes to enjoy a few beers. This year I may do a pub crawl for the first time. If you are going to be at the Blarney all dasy maybe I will stop by. Always good to meet other BNers. I will be the drunkl guy yelling "coach, coach, coachjenks!"

Here you go!
haha...yeah, call me coach obvious!
Yep...it's been a while since I've been up to Toledo to see him. Nothing like heading north in March for some snow shower, wind and near freezing temps! Call out my name enough and I'm sure I'll hear it!
If that Lauren girl in the picture from the article is there at Blarney in her green pants...I'll be there as long as she is!!
That us for sure the spot in Toledo for St Patty day. You could throw in Arnies also on Secor then go to the tent. Place is ALWAYS packed in there.
Arnies, huh? Is that within walking of Blarney?
Arnies? That place sucks. Obie's Tavern on tremainsville is the spot on st patty's day. The Blarney is cool too
Mickey Fins was always fun too, if they are still around
I went to Mickey Finns a loooooong time ago! It's still around!
Downtown area/Blarney is the place to be in Toledo. Last year they closed down the street and had a huge tent in the middle of the road that connected the Blarney and Pizza Pappalis across the street. It gets real crowded around 9 or so. But it does go on all day and is still very busy during the day. You just have to be careful because if you buy beer in the tent you are not allowed to carry it into either one of the other bars as it is against the liquor license law. They have cops at the entrances of the tent stopping people from going back and fourth with alcohol. My advice is make sure you bring some cash if you want to buy drinks in the tent, that tends to be where most of the crowd is during the day. once 9 or 10 o clock comes by you can hardly move in either of the bars. Dont plan on getting cash out of the ATM at the bar. I made that mistake last year and found out that that gets used so much its empty by 3 in the afternoon. I will be down there most likely. You should have a good time though.
This! But get there early!

O'Bs on Tremainsville...Hands down...no argument...
OB's is cool, but crazy crowded. Small place., and not even close to the Park Inn. I would stay downtown.
Without a doubt, stay downtown and spend most of your time at the Blarney. Hands down, THE spot to be. Btw they list Mulvaney's Bunker on that list (which I would support) but it has been closed for several months now...that is unless they just re-opened within the last few weeks. Besides that, everyone else is spot on. Have fun in my old stompin grounds as well

I am actually from T-Town, but will be in vegas for patty's. i actually have a blast here there are a lot of fun places to go. We usually start at Nick and Jimmy's and then make our way to Claddagh which is pricey, but a good time. The hole in the wall places like OB's and Delaney's are way packed it's not worth the hastle honestly. Especially if your staying downtown. My buddies wife and sister will be selling beer tickets i believe at Blarney (she is an OSU alum). Wish i could be there to have some beers with you, but UNfortunately i'll be in Sin City.. Have fun and Go Bucks! Oh and stay away from arnies its nuts to butt and it reeks of vomit constantly.

Fairly new place out westgate area called Irish Eyes. Been awesome every time I've been there. Should be great St. pat's day.
That's all good stuff! I bet we'll stay downtown so we don't have to drive anywhere throughout the day or night. I know it's not Irish but we'll probably start with Packo's and build the base!!
What's within walking to Blarney?
Thanks for all the suggestions!
I really feel bad for you that you're gonna miss Toledo for Vegas!! Haha! I'll have to ask all the ticket girls if they know sballz03!!!
Everything worth going to is in two or three blocks of the blarney so you'll be good on travel. I use to work at the bronze boar which is a block down the street i'm sure they will be packed as well with all the carry over. If you come across a girl named betsy or emily tell them you know sartor... It may or may not be for your benefit... Have fun man.
Good to know as far as being close to all that's good. So...should I be looking for this Emily and Betsy at the Bronze Boar...do they work there? Haha...I'm sure I'll meet them!!! I'm gonna try to meet everyone in downtown Toledo!!
No they will be selling beer tickets i believe or something for the Blarney i'm not sure if its the tent or inside. They are sisters both are short the one has reddish blonde hair. Regardless you'll have a good time it's like 1 block from pacos to blarney and blarney is on the same street as pizzapopalis, the cock and bull, table 44 , and the bronze boar.
