Just another New Years Day in the Big Ten Conference. I think we went 0-5 two years ago, 1-4 last year and 1-4 this year. This conference is garbage. Does anyone seem to think this will improve anytime soon? Next year looks like Tosu and everyone else. Urban may not have to break a sweat in this shitty conference!
All the games with the exception of Purdue couldve gone either way. Put OSU in the picture and the bowls wouldve likely been .500. Its not as bad as people (espin) make it out to be.
Think they were 6-1 vs spread
Remember each b10 team was playing up 2 levels b/c the 2 best teams were ineligible

Minnesota, scUM and Wisconsin all lost in close games against "better" opponents. It still shows 1-4 in the end, but it went down to the wire in these three games. Wasn't like they got blown out....
Northwestern and Michigan State both won. There were a couple other very close games, and Ohio State and Penn State weren't even allowed to play. No reason to thow a "pity party."
A play here or a play there and the outcome is different. Not like any of these teams got embarrassed. Not like bama vs Michigan.
This year is skewed by the fact that Ohio State and Penn State aren't playing. And while losing sucks, I don't think B1G fans have anything to hang their head about. The B1G's fourth best team went toe-to-toe with the Pac-12's best team. Michigan and Nebraska gave teams with far superior talent all they wanted and more. The B1G fought admirably for being handicapped the way it was.
Maybe the B1G needs more opposing players to come out and say that they are slow. It worked for Northwestern.
I agree with this point. However next year we have to have a winning record against the SEC and in the BCS.
Lsu lost and if bama loses, it make the sec look a mere mortal.
The B1G is 2-13 in New Year's Day bowls the last 3 years. That's not even what I'd call mortal. That's just pathetic.
Exactly that would've made them a 4-5 record likely because teams wouldn't have had to play up as much.
Shut the f*"* up. They all played well, and against better teams. Even though they lost they fought hard and didn't embarrass the big ten. Except Purdue.
The B1G just flat out sucks, except Ohio State.
And I shall rejoice in victory for another 365 days over That School Up North.
You know it's bad when posters start justifying all the L's with what teams shouldn't be playing in certain games and "at least they were competitive in all those games," blah blah blah.
This is a major BCS conference last I checked. A loss is a loss is a loss.

And I'm fine with that.
I have to be honest, this thread has more rational, level-headed posters than I thought I would see.
I would like to see just about any major conference try to post an impressive bowl record playing two-levels up, with your two best teams not playing.
Not an excuse, a reason.

PS4 initial Metacritic scores: Killzone: SF (74), Knack (59).
Greatness awaits?? Please.
The games against SEC teams makes me wonder how we would do if any of them EVER had to come north to play anybody. They won't do that if no one calls them out for it, but they are so dominant playing in their own region.
That was my point.
