What cost them the game was being outrebounded 24-14 in the 2nd half, shooting 34% in the 2nd half and committing 14 turnovers....when you are down 3 at the very end of the game...nothing you do "costs you the game"... yea Scott tossed up a brick, but wiht some decent post play, and block-outs and rebounding, by then we would have put the game away and he would not have been taking that shot!
I also felt that Matta did not thave them prepared to play at the start. It was very reminicent of the Illinois fiasco. While it may cost a time out...he needs to quickly address their effot in the first 2-3 minutes and make corrections.....run a "sure thing play" or set Thomas up for a can't miss etc...not letting them "mentally" get down where they have to expend everything they have to claw back.....this is a young team..they play like it....

Everyone has excuses and answers. WE JUST AREN'T THAT GOOD. Dios mio sus aficionados son pinche loco a las tiempos.
well said Bigjimmie......they shot 40% for the game as well which is not good overall. Even though they forced 13 Sparty TO's I do not recall many of them being turned into points at the other end like we did against scUM.
We also need some resemblance of an offense that can actually do something against a zone D. We will continue to see that night in and night out and we cannot live on DT scoring 28 pts every night out and no one else REALLY contributing.
If DT has an off night our chances of losing increases dramatically..........Next 4 games are MUST WINS before going to scUM to play then home with IU.
I think we all have to realize this is this team is.....hope DT can score a bunch consistently and we get enough contributions from everyone else to make up the difference. Also, our D cannot have lapses and we need to create points off of those TO's.
