I am not a fan of the Cowboys but after watching the game last night I got to thinking. Tony Romo has great potential and I definitely would not give up on him. I put the whole situation in Dallas on the coaching. With that being said with what Urban was able to get out of Braxton this year, If the Cowboys offered Urban 10 million a year do you think he would work his same magic at the professional level and turn Romo's potential into a trip to the Super Bowl?
No. Urban has no desire to coach in the NFL. He enjoys recruiting and teaching too much. I'm not saying he couldn't do it, just that I don't think he has any desire.
im a hugh cowboy fan but graduated from tOSU can he do both??????? if not BUCKS allday
Romo is about over the hill, he cannot get it done in the big game throughout his whole career.
Romo has had stellar defenses around him in his career, and they have spent money and drafted talented WR's as well, a lot of the issues are Romo, the extension he got was a bad move. That was Romo throwing lots of bad passes and 3 interceptions last night, not the coaches.
Meyer to Dallas ain't happeng either, he has his dream job now at OSU.
It's not coaching, Romo just sucks in the big games. He's 1-7 in elimination games. He's either throwing dumb interceptions or botching the hold on extra points.
Man that's what I love about coaches who come to Ohio State. For many, it's THE destination NFL be damned.
Tony Romo got killed last night! I think they said he suffered a cracked rib in the second quarter. His top 2 receivers went down as well. I know he threw a few interceptions, but that loss wasn't all on him. He spent most of the night running for his life. I am not a Cowboys fan, but he is getting some unfair flack here.
I do not think Urban would leave college for the NFL......However, i think more teams will be interested in him if Chip Kelly works out in the NFL. Like I said before I do not think he would leave, but we all know that urbs does have high confidence in himself and does have a big enough ego that if Kelly works out then I think teams would be open to urban and then big money would be thrown his way so its always a possibility. He is in his dream job in my opinion now and would never leave ohio state.
Let me get this straight. You want to see Tony Romo running the read option in the NFL.
I normally would say I agree with you because I have defended Romo a lot in the past....but at some point the blame needs to go his way too.....how many more chances can you give him before you pull the plug? I mean how many playoff games has he won?
If urban did leave then his system would have to change.
You can't run quarterbacks like Meyer did with Tebow and Braxton. He also would have to deal with a salary cap so he wouldn't be able to stack teams with super talent like he's doing here or like he did at Florida.
I can't believe you would even have such a thought, let alone post it! (Especially being as you are not a Cowboy fan.)
You need a new hobby. this one is not working for you.
You lost me after you said Romo has great potential...
I was born in Texas and a lifelong Cowboys fan and it's time Jerry hires a GM which he won't do because of his Massive Ego and second he should draft a QB. I have never been a big fan of Romo, he chokes in all the big games, fumbles and throws picks like crazy. It's hard to believe he has passed Staubach and Aikman as all time passing leaders, and one playoff win? Granted the times have changed but still.
Urban would not go to the NFL he has his dream job, Dallas needs a Big Big name. I was surprised they didn't make a run at Sean Peyton who was at Dallas as a DC but he just signed a huge contract with the Saints.
STFU jackhole..Dumbest post ever.
The Father, The Son... well, it's the
The Holy Trinity... as I see it.
I know of three women and a teenage boy who would not allow Urban go anywhere else, let alone Dallas. Not that he would want to anyway. UFM to Dallas = UFM to PSU, et al.
This is an end of the year joke isn't it?
If not, you should really just stop watching football because you don't have a clue about it.
Agree 100 percent....I am a Redskins fan and once Snyder hired a GM things turned around quickly. Jerry Jones is the biggest problem in Dallas
