I'm curious as to what you guys think Meyer said to Dunn after his touchdown? I'm pretty sure i know what he was saying to Smith there when Meyer grabbed the towel and threw it back at the bench. Do you think that Smith has played himself down to 3rd on the running back rotation?
Did you see how much playing time Smith got today?
You want more of that! LEARN the playbook!
Smith was an active part of the playbook before the funble, but crickets afterwards. Rooting like crazy for the kid but man the fumbles are getting old.
He told him if he gets his head out of his ass and plays to his potential, he can be a star. he's unstoppable but youre gonna have to earn it brionte
I think if you watch the entire drive, Dunn almost lost the ball without being touched and regained control, I'm sure it was something about ball security.
"Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword never encountered automatic weapons".
General Douglas MacArthur
Dunn looked great. He fought for extra yardage on every carry. Glad he got the TD
I think Meyer was encouraging Dunn with that conversation.
I was a little disappointed to see Meyer grab that towel and toss it at Smith, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, he knows how to motivate guys. I think Smith has been excellent the last few games, especially this one (except TD catch). I really hoped he would get the ball on the next offensive possession following the fumble. Hyde got that treatment after the fumble against Nebraska.
With the amount of offensive possessions the Bucks have been running, I think there are enough touches available for all three to play.
Aren't we overstating this just a bit? Hasn't Rod just fumbled twice this year?
55 career carries, 5 fumbles. Ouch. Broke my heart when he put it on the ground today because he was really playing well the past month and gaining a lot of confidence
Good days, bad days --- always a Buckeye. Time to begin the assault on the 2014 BCS National Championship
That was a tough one today. Defender put the helmet right on the ball, that is a fumble for a lot of guys. Be had the ball in pretty decent position, just one of those plays.
If Meyer coached Beanie Wells he probably would have cut /never played him given his ball security issues.
During the play Rod Smith fumbled, did anyone else ask themselves why the defender didn't get called for leading with the crown of the helmet? I mean they call this all the time and this kid totally lowered his head and was staring at the grass when he hit Rid Smith. Smith still should have held on to the ball, but if refs are going to call this, then call it every time. If you didn't notice it, go back and watch what I'm talking about if you recorded the game. Totally lead with the crown of the helmet.
The Father, The Son... well, it's the
The Holy Trinity... as I see it.
Thought that Rod may have had the opportunity to turn his left shoulder into the defender which would have protected the ball more. Much easier to say than to react in a split second though.
Don't blame that one on Rod. Defender hit the ball straight on with his helmet.
When the coaches review it, it will be all good.
You are joking, right? You do realize they play the replays in slow-mo?
