....to go with that angry football team. He looks pissed listening to Corso and Pollack loving on Saban. This has to be killing him to sit there knowing he has a 12-0 team sitting in Columbus. Maybe he can't beat them this year, but he is dying to know. Stay angry, Coach.
He knows. He is happy to be in the position of being on the camera getting the exposure,(it speaks volumes to recruits that it is him over any other coach in America on that set). He is putting the pieces in place to compete on that level.
He got a very angry expression on his face when Fowler said that he was just wishing there was a team that could compete against Bama.
Come on guys, this is year 2 of his building the foundation in Cbus...Satan has 4 years in hell already. Next year and the year after will tell us all we need to know. A weak BIG and off we go. I like our chances here.
Urban is definitely a competitor, and I am sure he probably took that comment as a slight. But I am confident that he would not want to trade places with Brian Kelly tonight.
I'm loving it. Coach Meyer has the same passion that I do.
We may have lost the battle......but not the war.
All I could think about while watching the post game stuff was what must be going on inside of Meyer. I think he wants to beat Saban so bad. I wouldn't doubt it if he was texting his coaches during commercial breaks. Huge motivator to finish up recruiting.
Urban knows the Bucks couldn't compete with Alabama this year. His comments about ND lacking the team speed could also be applied to the Buckeyes, we just don't have the play makers on offense yet. Nor would our D be able to stop Alabama, even in the final 4 games of the year we were giving up 20 points per game.
In a couple years no team will have a talent gap on the Buckeyes.
I agree. We are at least two years away from competing against a team like Bama put on the field tonight. Meyer will get us there.
Some of you with some of the comments you make concerning Alabama is nauseating at some point. Some of you sound like Pollack and May with all the glory butt kissing some of you are doing with regards to Alabama.
This is one of the first times in over 650+ Posts that I don't care about being ridiculed or bashed. Some of you should grow a pair and stop sounding like you're petrified and intimidated by a Football Team. I for one would love to play Alabama any day they want to.schedule it!! Matter of fact lets have a SEC/Big challenge every year like we have the ACC/Big Challenge in Basketball. I could care less about the Bowl Games this Season. Lets play an SEC Home and Home series!
629 posts before I am corrected..... Sheesh..
And I don't think the fact that the B10 is so bad is helping the Buckeyes. Playing against strong competition can only make one better. People mocked Bama's schedule...but LSU, Georgia and Texas A&M would have won the B10 this year.
I believe next year we will be a top 5 team, we will see if we can beat the big boys.. The d line worries me and linebackers. Wait until Brax Sr yr, I think that will be a real good team able to beat anybody
Not sure people are "scared" of 'bama and the SEC - they're more "realistic" than scared. 12-0 was better than most of us thought this year, but IMO OSU was not a national championship caliber team this year. Yes, there were a lot of similarities to the 2002 squad (tight games where OSU found a way to win), but that 2002 defense was just plain nasty. 2012 defense improved after giving up 1432 points to Indiana (Indiana of all teams!), but let's be honest here, OSU would've gotten smoked "again" by an SEC team if they would've played 'Bama. There, I said it. The fact is, though, the future for OSU is very bright. We have one of the best coaches in the game, a recruiting machine that is more national than ever, and a young QB that can carry us for hopefully the next 2 years. What we "don't" have is the sheer depth of talent that 'Bama and several SEC teams have, nor do we have a conference that is anywhere near the SEC in talent and coaching (which will not improve anytime soon).
I believe Urban will get us there, but it's probably not 2013 - more like 2014 and beyond. He knows what it takes to play at that level and will accept nothing less. The future is indeed bright for OSU.
Urban was pissed b/c he was thinking Gene Smith screwed the pooch when we went to the Gator Bowl last year. He knew we could have taken ND behind the wood shed too.
I am confident that he would have. That is who he is. He will go toe to toe with anyone, anywhere.
Urban Meyer couldn't oversign at Florida and still gave it to Bama as good as he got it on occasion. He now has more money, more resources, more tradition, in a less competitive conference. He will build something that Bama never could in the SEC, a powerhouse that doesn't sacrifice academics and student athlete well being to the god of Football but is every bit as good.
