I know UFM wouldn't back down from any team. I am saying with the benefit of hindsight, Urban knew that he was doing the program more good by being the coach on the set being edified as the only undefeated team in the country, than being the coach that just got beat down in front of all the college football world confirming his program is not there yet. Knowing those facts, Urban would choose to be where he was last night.

I think A&Ms coach knows a team that can compete with Bama! Maybe even compete with them on Bama's field.
You know Meyer will go back and fire up this team and tell them how nobody respects them and that they can never compete...I want our shot at Bama
TAMU was definitely the team that nobody wanted to play at the end of the season. But I would still pick Bama to beat them in a rematch. The Aggies are definitely going to be contenders in the future though. Johnny Football solidified himself as an elite player with that performance against the Sooners.
I have to agree. I have little doubt we would have been a pick em or better against ND. Being on the bench this year I think is a blessing in disguise. I hear "two years" and totally agree. That DL will be primed and Braxton hopefully back and healthy.
I have told my SEC friends before the bowls that "we aren't ready for Bama" but watch out next year. I suspect plenty of 20 and 30 point victories along the way to a B1G title and hopefully on the field for the big game.

"Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword never encountered automatic weapons".
General Douglas MacArthur
Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way.
We could definitely compete. Anyone who says otherwise needs to lay off the ESPN. Now, I do think we would lose most times (probably 7 or 8 out of 10), but we would COMPETE.
What does COMPETE mean to you?. There were so many people who were so sure that ND was going to COMPETE with Bama and perhaps even win. They have been very silent. To me, compete means that you still have a reasonble chance to win into the fourth quarter.
I say it again. I LOVE MY BUCKEYES. But there was nothing about their performance this year that would lead me to believe that they would have a significantly better performance than ND against Bama.

To add to your point, everybody keeps bringing up how A&M "ran circles around Bama", this and that. #1) A&M caught Bama the week after they beat LSU in a slugfest of a game in Death Valley, a place where no visiting team had won a game in something like 4 years prior to that game. 2) A&M got out to like a 21-0 start in that game and had to hold on for dear life. A holding call on Bama ended what woulda been a game winning drive in A&M territory. Manziel wasn't nearly as effective in the 2nd half. 3) You give Saban 37 days to prepare for anybody and I don't care who the opposition is, that's a losing proposition and has been proven over time as he's now 4-0 in National Title games.
When's the last time OSU played two top 10 teams in back to back weeks as those two teams(A&M and LSU) were at the time Bama played them? As Urban stated last night, "we got a long way to go."
