and Les Miles said they were losing 13 underclassmen to this years NFL draft, I could imagine the meltdown on this board if the Buckeyes had that many draft eligible players and they all left, We only lost Hankins and people were pissing and moaning. Any way I thought Miles used this opportunity to brag that they recruited very talented players and played them early for this very possibility,
That's why theyre going to suck this year
one was a punter also. Maybe players don't like the staff
Sarah sorry about the Herpes.
I don't remember any whining when Hank left early. Tons of well wishes and thanks for being a great Buckeye. We all knew it was coming for months. What was the pissing and moaning about in your memory?
First. Did they lose 13 to the nfl draft or did they"lose" 13 kids for various reasons.
Second this is why I wish the big ten would've partnered with them instead of fox for the btn. As it stands now the sec gets preferential treatment by espn as they protect their investment so all of the spring, summer, draft, and other coverage is styled around the sec. Like it or not folks the majority of people watch espn instead of fox, nbc, etc... This is aiken to when hockey signed a contract with versus. At least when they were with espn they got consistent coverage.
And a third one... Les Miles is a Fuckin trip.
We could see more talent leaving here early starting in near future---
Do not see a problem with the equation of recruiting top 5 classes, winning championships, and sending kids to NFL with good foundation!
Now -- If we can't replenish the talent or win the big games .... I am sure you will hear the bitching and moaning.
Probably here it first! LOL
No question BTN has actually hurt the perception of the BIG at least in the short term. Espn gushes about the SEC all day long.
The fact that 13 kids left the program leads me to believe they do not like the staff. 13 is a really big #.
As far as Hank, I feel he made the wrong and somewhat selfish decision.
He is only a high 1st or low 2nd rd pick. He could have helped lead this team to a NC and got his degree. Unless his family was in dire straights financially, I think he should have stayed. Urban even made a comment that he was surprised he left and maybe wasn't ready for the next level.
I piss excellence.
These kids are using LSU and the SEC as a stepping stone to the NFL, They were on the field for their Pro day with every NFL team represented. That being said, kids should only leave early if they are projected relatively high(1st/2nd rounders). I don't believe all 13 are going in the 1st or 2nd round. I stand by my original statement that if we were losing 13 underclassmen to the draft, a lot of Bucknutters would be on suicide watch.
Well I don't know if we will experience a one year loss quite this great but we need to brace outselves because as we recruit better athletes we too can experience larger and earlier departures in the future. So keep them coming in the front door so those exiting the back door to not have as negative impact on us. Having said this I also agree that many players leave early because of the environments they are in. Over the years we have had some really great athletes who could have gone after their third year stay for a fourth because of our environment. One example was this past year with Roby.
