I say the 80s and the current day NBA. I think that the athletic ability and attention to strength and agility training/nutritional information and biochemistry are far better now. There are more good players now than ever. I think the Showtime Lakers and Celtics of the same era were the best concentration of talent on 2 teams. I thought the 90s were kind of Blah. what say you bucknuts nation? The Heat are on their way, however.
I agree, I have it ranked as:
1) today's era
2) mid to late 80's (after the early 80 crack epidemic).
3) 90's (adding Vancouver and Toronot watered it down some allowing the Bulls to go 72-10)
4) 60's to early 70's
5) 70's (water downed, two leagues)

I would take the 80 and 90s, I like the physical play. 00s was terrible, and this era is ok.
Whats holding this Era back is a post play....I hate the fact that there is no legit 7-0.

No joke where did all of the big men go?
the 80's and mid 90's... teams actually heated each other on and off the court.
NOT the damn lovefest that it has become, if you can't beat Em, join Em!!
No it's the " he's my boy" mentality and culture. the only guys that ever get roughed up are mainly the European players...LOL
seriously, there are no TRUE hated rivalries such as Lakers/Celtics....Pistons/Celtics/Bulls. Or Bulls/Cavs...
ts all kumbaya my friends...kumbaya!!! (Not sure if I spelled that right)
You haven't watched Heat vs Bulls or Heat vs Celtics have you?
Big man era 60s and 70s since Hakeem retired name three post players that could play with Hakeem, Moses, Wilt, Jabbar, Bellamy,
Gilmore, Russell, Thurmond, Reed, Walton--when healthy etc, these guys were tough and strong
Three of the most unstoppable players low post players of all time, with smooth offensive moves, were not even centers, McHale,
Big E and Sikma--------------------Duncan and Nowitzki are great but those three from other eras would dominate as much as Dirk and Tim
So your saying the blazers never added pieces to the teams they had?
Please don't say the lakers never made moves. Lol
The celtics did the same thing. Teams from the past was loaded but teams today get knocked for it????????
In the history of the NBA, only 15 teams won titles. The lakers an celtics have about 60-70% of them. Please stop with the hate of this era's basketball.
History repeats itself, an this is what it looked like back in the day.
I agree with you on that, I think the Heat are the only team that gets that treatment because everyone wants to beat them. I think the league would be great if every team played with that resentment toward every team. Would make for a better product, because teams would seem like that actually give a damn about winning.
90's dominant time for Big Men. Shaq, Hakeem the Dream, Ewing, Robinson, Mourning, Duncan, Garnett, Webber.
Karl Malone. Nuff said.
"The only thing That Team Up North will be tasting this year is the salty tears of defeat" - UFM
Totally disagree with Webber, could not handle the physical style of earlier era, Mourning to offensively challenged--D end yes
Robinson would be fine, Ewing---still wonder about Patrick but will give you him
Hakeem already mentioned him and Duncan
Garnett would have met his match the Big E
I aplogize to Wes Unseld, one of all time great rebounders in NBA history and forgot to include him on earlier post, Webber better pull
him out because he would have had his ass handed to him on a regular basis by Wes and the rest of earlier list
