Head hit ground pretty hard on a tackle.
Was carted off of sidelines.
Looked like a very serious head injury. Made him instantly sick and dizzy. This could be something that keeps him out for weeks, I hate to say it.
Wouldn't be shocked if it ended his season
Just a guess but I think he broke his left collarbone. I broke mine the exact same way. All of his weight landed on that side.
They took him off the field with both of his arms around a guy to help him walk. No way that's a broken collarbone.
He just got one of the worst concussions possible is my guess.
I am guessing something to do with the chest wall or lungs. Could be anything. Hope fully nothing serious like a broken rib/sternum or pneumothorax/pulmonary contusion.
Being taken to the med center via ambulance
He's gonna be out for a while
I am guessing concussion and broken rib with a collapsed lung. With that shallow breathing that is my guess.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Seems its gotta be something significant if they're taking him to the hospital, obviously.
The way he was hunched over favoring his side...my guess is a hip or back. Feel bad for the kid. If Guiton goes down whos in? Jones or Siems?
I agree with others on the ribs plus possible concussion diagnosis. Not neck or vertebrae, because the doctors would have immediately immobilized c-spine. Also, by the way they assisted him off the field, it doesn't seem like it would be a shoulder injury.
Hunched over and labored breathing and hardly able to walk. Ribs + Possible concussion is my guess.
My doctor friend just said it looked like the worst possible concussion. Knocked out at first then terrible vertigo, unable to walk on his own. Breathing is affected - heavy, deep breaths while hunched over. He was given a towel several times to wipe his eyes, which were probably tearing up from the nausea - gagging alot. He was probably taken to the hospital because of the breathing difficulty and difficulty staying conscience.
He said if it was a rib injury they wouldn't have moved him and put him on the cart on the field not to risk internal damage by walking him off the field like that but the tell-tale sign was him lifting his arms over those coaches to help walk off the field...rib or collarbone injuries would make him keep his arms down around his chest.
If this is correct, it's probably a season ender. This is terrible.
Anyone being taking to the hospital is likely going to get a CT, so based on his injury I bet it's probably broken rib/ribs with labored breathing suspecting a pneumothorax. I just don't buy a serious concussion with the lack of a direct blow to the head. And I highly doubt a broken clavicle with the way they carried him off to the sideline. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
Looked like a concussion to me.
If it were neck, they'd have him in a neck brace and not trying to have him walk.
I'm going with concussion and he misses one game.
Can someone remind me what Braxton's injury was last year against Nebraska? TIA
If we can, let's try to keep info confined to this thread for the evening
I agree. A concussion is obviously serious but anything worse and they would've had a stretcher brought on the field. The way coaches took him off the field rules out collar bone/rib/chest injury.
ForeverNuts said in another thread he heard Brax is doing much better at the hospital
Can't be collarbone or shoulder bc he had his arms around the trainers. Can't be neck related or he'd be on a stretcher. Can only be a concussion. I'm honestly not expecting it to be too bad. I expect to see him before the end of the year. Maybe one week off. Just my opinion
Dantonio just texted that he probably had the wind knocked out of him...be back next week.
TIFWIW over on Penn State 247
Rumors going around their board (from the 11 warriors site) that he has a broken clavicle and is out for the year. JUST RUMORS, NOTHING CONFIRMED."
I will be shocked if that is what it is with the way he was carried off
gotta believe had he hit hit head on a natural grass surface (rather than that field turf garbage) this would not have been that serious. Meyer has enough clout to go back to a grass field. I hope he pushes for it.
