When we go 12-0... I really believe Miller will win the Heisman, Urb will get coach of year and there will be a split national championship. Go ahead a call me an fool but it's my gut feeling!!!

You so craaazy
he wouldn't let his players pose in the Playboy All-American magazine edition, he said, "Cause you can't play football with an erection."
B.O.B has coy on lock
What do you mean by "split Championship"? We aren't eligible for the BCS Championship, so that isn't happening. That is, if you're refering to us being part of the split. Even if we go 12-0, I doubt we get AP Champion unless every team has at least two losses. Besides, what does AP Champion mean? It's like winning the NIT...who cares! Going 12-0 is awesome..I don't need the AP Championship to go along with it, and I doubt the team does either.

I don't think Braxton stands a snowball's chance in hell at the Heisman nor do I think we'll get more than 1 vote for 1st place in the AP Rank for AP Nat'l Title because of our National perception.
My reasoning is that the Heisman voters aren't going to give Braxton any real love unless he goes ape shit and Collin Klein and Mant'i hit a major skid and stink bad in a game or two. As far as the AP Nat'l title Notre Dame and Kansas State need to lose twice and assuming Alabama wins out they would need to lose by 10 or more. The national opinion of Buckeye football is "Yeah, they've got a perfect record, but who have they played? and they haven't looked good playing much lesser competition".
There's no way to get around that unless you're dropping 50+ on every team you play, ESPECIALLY in this weak ass B1G and you need to schedule tougher opponents.
Fact of the matter is no one outside of BuckeyeNation believes a 12-0 Buckeye team, which has looked pretty shaky at certain points during the season, is better than a 1 loss SEC team or 1 loss Notre Dame team, especially when you start comparing resumes and see how weak our competition has been. Yes, I realize its not our fault the B1G sucks and that we are the best team, BY A LONG SHOT!!!, in it, but as long as we're in a system where your position to play in the championship/playoffs is controlled by so-called "expert's" opinions we are stuck like chuck.

12-0 I'd give that a 75% chance and improving each week.
Heisman - I'd give that about a 25% chance even if we go 12-0. I think Brax needs 2 crazy games to give him serious momentum.
COY - 5% chance. The line is too long ahead of him. Kelly and Snyder have to be front runners right now and even if they lose a game will still be ahead of Urban. COY in the B1G, that is much more likely.
Split NC - Less than 1%. Nice to dream about but it will only happen if the AP writers want to make a statement about the BCS. And that is a possibility if and only if Alabama loses. Alabama wins out and best we could hope for will be 2 in the polls. The B1G blowing as a conference this year doesn't help at all.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
No way - Bill Snyder.
Dude, love the excitement and enthusiasm, give you an A for that...but just don't see the NC...no way with the poor quality of the BIG. However, Brax ripping apart Scum on the Thanksgiving weekend, may win the Heisman, but man, he needs to just shred Bucky and Scum. I mean shred them. Keep the enthusiasm and Go Bucks.
It will be tough to pass Bill Snyder and even if it's not Bill Snyder I think Brian Kelly gets it before urban Meyer. Urban Meyer has Jim Tressel disease where you thought of too highly to get the coach of the year. Even following a six and seven year. If Ohio State could play in a conference championship game it may be a different story, but both coach of the year and Heisman tickets huge shit when you play one last game.
1 loss ND and KSt ahead of OSU are you high? ND has squeaked out just as many close wins against mediocre teams as OSU. And KSt doesnt play anyone that good just like OSU. Both teams deserve to be ranked ahead now but certainly not with 1 loss. A 1 loss SEC team yes but not those 2 teams, both of which along with #2 Oregon btw OSU has defeated in BCS bowls.
Im amazed at how a win over an okay Oklahoma team has made people forget ND barely beat Purdue, Stanford, BYU and Michigan. Michigan had 6 TOs and still outgained ND and only lost by 7. Lets just say there were more than a few questionable calls late in the games against Purdue and Stanford.
No I'm not high, I'm just reiterating the public perception of the Buckeyes, not my own.
It's hard for me to see the voters putting a 1 loss ND or 1 loss SEC team BEHIND us. ND especially because they are garnering so much attention and it seems to be that most are pulling for them to be in the Nat'l title game.
Who knows what they'll do for sure, but if I had to bet, I'd put my money on OSU being behind a 1 loss ND, 1 loss SEC, and undefeated Oregon team.
Unless there is straight up bedlam like a couple of years ago where it seemed like the top ranked teams were trying to lose, I think our ceiling is Rank: 3rd. Although, this is college football and if for some strange reason we get ranked 3rd before the Nat'l title game, then depending on how that game plays out we very much could be ranked 2nd. Number 1 is too much a stretch, but you never know with these voters.
You're an fool
one game at a time...
still, good to have dreams, goals and aspirations!
Boy, I am reading some really loose thinking on this topic! Let's summarize the situation in bullet-like fashion:
1. Agreed that none of this happens for Braxton OR the Bucks unless we go 12-0.
2. Bowl games don't count (can't) in the Heisman race. The show is over well before the bowls are played!
3. Now the conitional outcomes:
* If Braxton finishes big, I mean very big, as in 150 yds +/- each of his last 3 games, so that he goes 1500/2000 in running and passing, they can't keep him out of NY.
* If additionally KSU loses one of their scheduled games and if Klein has only a mediocre day, Miller gets more votes than Klein. If ND loses a regular season game, Miller also goes ahead of Teo and thus would win the Heisman. McCarren is not a factor --Bama is supposed to win and he is merely the mechanic on that train.
4. Can OSU win the AP championship? Conceptually its possible. But Bama would have to lose, as well as ND, Oregon, and KState. I can see KState and actually Oregon losing in the regular season, but Bama? -- that's tough..the best case is for them to lose in Baton Rouge Saturday night and that's a long shot.
5. Can a one loss ND stay ahead of a 12-0 OSU? Possible, but not likely, unless they play their tails off in a BCS bowl and get lots of sympathy votes as a result because a 12-0 OSU did not finish the deal (play in a BCS bowl). Same thing is true for a one loss Oregon.
6. No other team now behind OSU in the AP poll will be able leap over OSU if we run the table. Period.
7 However, on a national championship question, I think it is all pretty much wishful thinking. If Bama runs over LSU like I think they will, noone-- Oregon, ND, KSU or anyone else ---- is going to knock them off!
8. Relative to COY honors -- if UFM takes the Bucks and runs the table, he should be COY, but I think the other opnions on this thread are correct -- "well, its Urban Meyer and he's supposed to do things like that, even with the hand he was dealt". Bill Synder, on the other hand, will get it, and there is to be sure a good case for him -- a 70+ year old coach taking a middle of the road team and steamrolling opponenets. If ND's Kelly gets it, I will puck ( that's technical talk!)
"Playing here is the closest thing to heaven on earth..." - Brian Rolle
Not to be a buzzkill, but...
There is no chance we win the AP NC, nor do we deserve to. A one loss NC bowl winning team will be ranked ahead of us. At best we will have beaten 1 ranked team by season's end. If we were to play any top 10 team on a neutral field we would be the underdog.
Braxton does not deserve the Heisman. His QB rating of 135 ranks him #59 among college QBs. He is an average passer, no way a QB wins the Heisman as an average passer no matter how eye popping his running abilities. AJ McCarron is ranked #1 and Collin Klein #2.
Having said that finishing 12-0 will certainly be a top 5 finish and just having Braxton make the trip to NYC will produce great publicity. This could be a magical season without the crystal ball or the Heisman if we just FINISH!
I will go ahead and call you a fool. 12-0 would be great and I still think there is a slight chance Braxton could win the Heisman if he has a huge game the last three games of the season. The split Nat title will NOT happen. There's a very good chance that Oregon, Notre Dame, Alabama and K-state finish the season undefeated. If not all four then I would say the National title game would still have two undefeated teams in it. They way we have played in some game this year doesn't make us look impressive enough at all to make the argument that we are the best team in the country. I love the optimism but we def aren't the best or second best team in the country this year. Projected BCS rankings with the Buckeyes added in still have us behind a one loss LSU team. So even if we were eligible for a bowl game, theres a good chance we wouldn't get in the National title game anyways.
