you said one coach is inferior to the other because he doesn't win big games.
Yet he's won more big games than the other coach and I don't think that's even up for debate. You can have your opinion, but your explanation of it is worse than Luke Fickell's stewardship as head coach (see that one works)

Maybe you are right, I haven't looked it up but it seemed like he recruited a ton of NBA talent during his tenure. maybe his team werent that good. Its hard to think of him as great when they couldn't make adjustments against Wichita State.
I piss excellence.
I said they were = because they underachieved with superior talent. Another poster pointed out that Mattas players were not all that. He could be right, I follow the NFL, not the NBA.
I don't care what anyone says or thinks....if scUM wins this game it would be an utter disaster for Buckeye Nation...
He beats Michigan, and has won taken us to 4 elite 8's in a row... Michigan got on a hot streak and it just worked perfectly for them...
Yes Burke is from Columbus, but so is Craft...And Craft was rated higher, I'd be pressed to say that I would still rather have Craft...
Not that I disagree with you, but craft is not from Columbus, and matta has not taken us to 4 straight elite 8s. He has taken us to 4 straight sweet 16s. We lost to to UT and UK in back to back sweet 16s.
1) This is Gene Smith's fault
2) John Cooper presided over the most underachieving era in Buckeye sports history. No way Matta can come close to taking that rap when you put his accomplishments in context.
3) That being said, stop the PR spins, Burke's recruitment was a terrible miss. All past interviews indicate negligence. To hardly go see or dispatch any assistants to see a Columbus kid who played at the high school of your 2nd most ballyhooed recruit ever?? Truth be told, we lucked into getting Craft too.. Sometimes you need luck though.
No, no, no! You can't EVER have two point guards in the same recruiting class. That never happens. Additionally, Scott is a once in a generation talent at the point so it was a no brainer he'd be all we'd ever need. How on earth were we supposed to track the progress of a recruit in our own city who is best buds with one of our best players of the modern era? Shooting, scoring, putting the ball in the hoop is vastly overrated.

I would say the elite eight is a bcs game and a final four is a rose bowl and a nc game is a nc game.
Cooper gets credit for a Rose Bowl but Matta gets no love for 2 Final Fours?
Not only unpopular but also incorrect. Matta has an excellent record against Meatchicken.
Never ceases to amaze me how ignorant people on this board are about sports. Amazing. Amazing that after a decade I'm still surprised.
You can't handle the truth
