I think it is fair to sit with each kid and discuss how they fit his schemes. I'm not just talking about the ones some of you think aren't good enough to be recruited by Urban either.
All kids should have this sit down with him. If they feel the kid doesn't fit, the kid has the option to go somewhere else.
I don't think OSU should push anyone away this late in the game. It is unfair to the kids that may have said no to many other schools. Some of which may not be willing to look at them again.
We say as fans that kids are committing to the school and not the coach. The same goes the other way around too. The school is offering the kid, not just the coach.
In terms of how to deal with kids that are offered but have not yet committed:
If it's a kid Meyer doesn't want, you just don't call him. You don't pull the offer and set up a big conflict with the kid, his coach, parents, etc. You just let the interest die on the vine. The kid will be hearing from other schools and will go in that direction, the kid wants to go where he's getting the interest. If he was that big into OSU he would have committed already. He's not going to mail in a LOI without talking to the new staff.
Thad Matta pulled this stunt on a kid that was COMMITTED, went to Benedictine, Cameron Wright. Stopped recruiting him, calling him, etc. Now that's wrong. But to just let an offer fizzle out, that's acceptable. There is no loss of face for anybody, and over time all parties go there own way.
Strategy works in dating too. Stop calling...they get the hint.

Don't forget a couple of 3 starts that noone thought much of like Malcolm Jenkins A.J Hawk and James Lauranitis to name a few.
Maybe they were more athletic then some of these kids . I think Urban can make room other ways like people transfering ect.
