Below are some current betting lines related to OSU, as currently available at the Las Vegas Hotel (formerly Las Vegas Hilton). I currently live in Las Vegas, and visit LVH nearly weekly.
2012 Regular Season wins
Ohio State 8.5 over is -180
Michigan 8.5 though over is +110
Wisconsin 9 over is -140
Nebraska 8,5 with over -105
Michigan St 8.5 with over -110
Penn State was not listed, even prior to recent scandal.
Selected Games of the Year:
OSU +2 at Mich St
OSU -4 Nebraska
OSU +5.5 at Wisconsin
OSU -2.5 Michigan
Mich St -2 ND
ND -4 Michigan
USC -11 ND
As much as I think we will 9 games this year the -180 makes it not worth the gamble IMO.
I really like the Wisky spread, 5.5 is a lot, I think that will come down eventually, I assume that's -110. That's probably my favorite, I also like us - 2.5 vs scUM. I just can't see us losing that game at home, that spread may end up getting better though, if I see it at -1 or even I am going to jump on it.
These numbers are all gibberish to me. Can anyone explain in dumbarse terms what they mean?
If you think OSU will win more than 8.5 games, you would have to bet $180 to win $100.
If you think SCuM will win more than 8.5 games, you would have to bet $100 to $110.
Depending on which way the sign (+ or -) determines which way the bet is paid out. A negative amount means that you have to wager that amount to win $100. A postive amount means that you have to wager $100 to win that amount.....hope that helps......
Wisky line is a pleaser waiting to be cashed in on.
Just got back from Vegas today. It was 9 everywhere I went except Cosmopolitan-8 1/2 there but all Big Ten off the board there. Even at 9 it was -135 for the over---I was told there was a lot of over action on the Bucks. With the 4 non-conference games I can totally understand that..
That was a great explanation. I did not know what those betting figures meant either. (Obviously, I'm not a betting person.)
Is there a line for PSU fans getting plus or minus 50,000 in the stands?
We are coming for you Bama!
