I think it is great and love everything that Coach Coombs brings to tOSU. He seems to be having a positive influence on his players and the team overall. On a side note, it is interesting that so much love is displayed here for him when he is exactly the same type coach as Brian Kelly at Notre Dame. The descriptions of Kelly have been much less flattering here. Not exactly the "no spin zone" of college football coaches. Not that it should be, but just an observation.

With all due respect it isn't the same. I have been on the sidelines for both coaches at the same time. There is a different respect level that they have. The relationships Coombs has with these kids is different. There is a reason why Coombs will get a kid from a school and then the next year get 3 from that school. I think passion and anger are different. And this is also coming from a Brian Kelly fan.

I think Coombs is a nice addition to this great staff. I agree with his assessment of Roby and I think those who have been hard on Howard in the past and are skeptical of him in the upcoming season are going to be pleasantly surprised. Notre Dame has always done well in the Cincy area but I think now the Bucks are going to get more of those studs that previously went to the Irish.
