Craft Capital One Academic AA first team two years running.

  • Congratulations to Aaron Craft, he just made the exclusive Capital One Academic All American team two years in a row on the first team. Craft is a pre med major with a 3.92 GPA. Zeller made the first team from IU, a kid from Brown has a 4.00 GPA.
Quite the accomplishment, first team academic all American two years in a row for Craft, the consumate student athlete at Ohio State. With all the off the field issues with ego football players that just dinged Ohio State, Craft is the role model of a student athlete, both on and off the field at OSU.
Congrats. They also noted he has an Ohio State record 15 assists in a game, and season steals record of 98 for a season.
He also won the NCAA 89 elite award, for having the highest GPA of all players in last years Final Four.
Kid just wins on and off the court. You can bet Craft may leave next year breaking Lighty's all teams wins by a player at OSU as well.

This is great! The NCAA should bump a teams APR if they win an individual award like this one.

I didn't think you could be a pre-med major though. Just get a degree in any bachelor of science and plan to take the MCAT, right?

As someone who decided to go to law school late in my junior year because my history major did to offer many lucrative avenues, I was annoyed by freshman who told me they were 'pre-law'. No such thing!

Great for him and for the team. True leadership.

(And am I the only one who finds some irony in capital one being spelled wrong in a academic AA thread ;) )

  • It helps to have a science degree preferrably BS degree in order to get to medical school. MCAT tests you on life sciences, physical sciences, reading and writing two essays. Hell, that was the last time I took the test. I don't know what they test for now. Most schools like kids who are chemistry and biology majors (kids who focus on molecular biology). There is no pre law, you can take a lot of pre med courses like Molecular Biology, Organic Chemistry and similar courses. It would be cool if Craft could compete for a Fulbright or Rhodes scholarship that would be a first for the Big Ten in a long while.
