Obviously we would like to get both DBs - but how would you compare their games, who is likely to be the better college player, and who do we need more?
Blanding - appears to be the #1 safety prospect and has a long frame in the Sean Taylor or Taylor Mays mold. Appears to have very good cover skills, range, and ability to high point the ball. Looks to be purely a very good safety prospect. This has bee n a very weak area of our defense - the need is diminished a bit if we land Bell and Burrows moves to Safety - but you can never have enough playmakers in the middle of the field.
Peppers - either the #1 or #2 CB prospect. Looks to be more dynamic athlete but at 6'1 could hold his own against most WRs. Could even play WR if needed as he seems to have that explosive ability on both sides of the ball. Very sharpe kid too from a winning program makes this him a day 1 player who I'd guess is a lockdown CB early in his career.
Tough call between who we need more, I'd tend to go with the more explosive and versatile Peppers but athletes at safety like Blanding are much more rare. Up to Meyer now to go get both! We need a continued talent upgrade in our secondary.
Wow this is tough... I'll choose Peppers though, he seems more explosive. And he can also play multiple positions.
I agree the versatility you get with Peppers is a bonus. Plus from the film he seems like the more interested of the two in laying a hit on people.
Our quarterback does front flips, suck it.
I would rather have Peppers for two reasons. One, he is a legitimate shutdown corner, which is really hard to find, and two, I like his chances on offense better if he ends up being unable to play defense.
Talk about tough! I like the length and range that Quin wold bring at safety but peppers is a DUDE .. that kid is so versatile and can be elite at multiple positions. So if I had to pick I would go with peppers, but you can't go wrong with either one.
Happy Holidays knuckleheads! Be safe out there.
Double post! Stupid phone.

Both potentially dominant top 10 players in their class at DB. Guess maybe key is after this upcoming year which position will OSU need more?
Ultimately, I feel we have more safety prospects but less good options. However, if Burrows ends up at safety, and s as good as expected, then I'd go with Peppers. Plus ultimately shutdown CBs are more desired by NFL for a reason and have been a staple of OSUs defense.
That said, our best and most other talented defenses are extremely strong up the middle
