  • Could we experience another mass exodus from PSU recruits this off season? With what is coming out in courts and surely to dominate headlines again, are there any recruits we want there that may waiver when recruits see how ugly things really were there or is this going to be a non issue with incoming guys?

Thats weak... I'd rather smash them on the field with a good team rather than a team full of MAC level talent. Personally I dont think 1 kid will waiver. They all knew what they were getting into, the same way ours new what they were getting in to. As long as the NCAA doesn't get them, they'll be able to get a degree and play 4 years of football at a good school. The playing time is there also.

  • I hope they get hammered because of what they let happen to kids to protect their program. And if a byproduct of that is flipping Adam Breneman then so be it.

  • It's hard to imagine the NCAA not getting them. A lot of people associated with the football program enabled here. The place is a poster child for LOIC. I don't it's hyperbole to say that this is the biggest scandal in NCAA college football history.

(I don't hate PSU, but the stink keeps spreading.)

  • I am inclined to agree as I do not see any waviers because these recruits knew what the circumstances would be. Now should the NCAA get involved then it might be another story but to this point even though there is serious misconduct involved I do not see where any NCAA rules have been broken.

  • as slow as the ncaa resolves issues it is likely this class will have already signed before psu know their fate

  • We experience what the likes of ESPN can do and how they can accelerate impressions prior to decisions. That is the only reason I bring it up. It is not impossible that ESPN makes every person in the country think that PSU will be levied with heavy penalties. I am not saying that they will be, just opening up conversation during down time that's all.

  • I mentioned this in another thread...I hope penn state doesn't get crushed per se. This is a situation of an old guard really screwing up and a new guard taking over that really had nothing to do with this. Please understand I want those involved punished to the furthest extent of the law. But why smoke the current regime and fan base? I also believe it would be very bad for the big ten for us to lose a powerful member institution. I for one want all teams at full strength when we play them. Makes the games better, victories sweeter, and perception stronger.

indeed, but it is the "not knowing" that will cause familes to not want to send their kids to PS.

  • I'm not a fan of PSU fans...but remember what it felt like for us for the past year...this program was lost in cover-up and their fans have to be sick of seeing no end in sight to their programs' plight...we were fortunate to have an ending of Coach Meyer coming aboard and a one year bowl ban...these guys (the Program) will pay for this for many years to come and rightfully so...but the PSU fans will live for the rest of their lives with this stuck in the crawl of their being...and all that they did was cheer on a favorite collegiate football team on fall Saturday afternoons...what are they gonna do now????????????

I tend to believe that things will come out during this trial that we and the families of the potential PSU commits did not know at the time they comitted. If some of the commits and families believed the people most responsible for the alleged crimes and associated cover up were dealt with, then it may have not been a problem. But if the problem shows to have been systemic in nature and there is no way to know how deep the cover up goes, then the entire program could become a place that parents can not trust. It will probably get worse before it gets better.

Most of their fans were royal Douches when we were going through the shatstorm last year. How many of us had to hear their, "Joe Pa does it right", mantra?

  • I don't know if they have anyone I want to be honest. I'll take Baugh and we don't need another tight end so Brennemen I'd take I guess. We have defensive backs in the pipeline so Ross Douglass might not be that big of a need plus he's small. A solid player though. Greg Webb, eh we are in on Munger who is his clone. Garret Sickels is a poor man's Joey Bosa and Hackenberg, well we have JT Barrett who is our quarterback.

After that its a who's who of 3 stars that are a dime a dozen in Ohio. I'd rather see Penn State remain Penn State then anything bad to happen. Wishing ill on people gets you nowhere in life. Unless then it's Jerry Sandusky and in that case he should go to jail for a long long time.

Totally agree. I want PA to be ours like Ohio is right now in recruiting. Not to mention the DC area. Eliminating a program like PSU from the mix only helps us. Besides that PSU fans are the biggest assholes I have experienced besides scUM.

i wish the demise of no one. i trust it will play out and justice, with mercy will prevail. but to be a fan and hope they get hammered seems pretty illogical ESPECIALLY since its fair to assume you havent met these people, havent talked to the officials, and really dont know all the circumstances. throwing stones at a glass house...might want to think how you would want to be treated (log/spec, do onto others, forgives will be forgiven) before you wish the hammer on everyone. real talk

You apparently haven't been to Madison WI.

  • Having PSU down only helps our recruiting. Any advantage to tOSU makes me happy. The competition can come from the SEC champion in the NC.

Here's some real talk for you. There is NOTHING under the law that would allow for true justice to be given to Jerry Sandusky or the prideful aholes that sacrificed the lives of all of those kids for the sake of that pathetic institution. Justice with mercy? By their very definition they are opposites. Glass house? Are you saying that anyone who speaks out against this is a pedophile? Where was the mercy for those kids who had Jerry Sandusky's crank shoved down their throat or up their a**? If that MI in your screen name has anything a certain state, I can understand how your head found its way so far up your a**. Take your liberal utopia garage and ruin a society somewhere else.
