Does Pryor Join OSU Hall Of Shame?

  • Move over Maurice Clarrett, Marco Cooper, Art Schlichter, Ray Small,Louis Eizzairy(?), Make room for olde #2..looks like he is on his way to join you. Just another great prospect that "blew it" on the love of himself, and not just being a real Buckeye. or quality individual. Just another player that took more than he gave, in the end!
In this case I will be glad to see TP go. He has done all the damage to this program that he has needed to. Obviously his "character" quality has been weighed in the balance and found wanting....not the type of individual I want running my Buckeyes as a "leader" of men on and off the field! Evidently a "weak" person who must be stroked by gifts and gratuties to play here. We don't need that! His concern for his coach obviuously did not exist and his nar-sistic demure helped the demise of America's greatest college football coach. Sure he won some games....was it worth it?
Retire #2 jersery,..... now-in the dumpster!

  • Um, yeah. He and Clarett are right down the hall from Schlichter in my book. At least MoC has learned his life-lessons, albeit the hard way.

from what I heard he was stopped by the cops recently and they confiscated over 30,000. I wonder how clean he is at this point.

    What an idiot.

  • What?! I never heard that, where did you get it?

  • Schlichter is probably the worst of them all. He is a scam artist and lives to manipulate others. Mo C made a huge mistake, but appears to have righted the ship.

I cannot lump TP in the category with those two. He was a player that continued the aura of entitlement that began in high school. If TOSU would have done a better job looking after their star QB (not a normal player), this would not be an issue. Pryor gets the blame since he is an adult, but I don't blame him for Coach Tressel's mistake. Coach Tressel is a grown man and made a bad decision when he lied. That is on him. Ultimately, I don't really see what TP has done as being any worse than Troy Smith. TP is one in a long list that has taken fringe benefits at TOSU.

I can't put TP's errors in the same category as MO C and Schlichter. Mo C served time in prison and Schlichter deserves to be in prison for a long time.

  • Just a quick question...

Why only TP? There were "5" players involved here. Why is he the fall guy?

Is it okay to welcome back the other 4 with open arms?

  • Pryor may lack some judgement, but I will not put him in the same category with these other guys. These guys were guilty of criminal offenses where Pryor is guilty of a suspect NCAA violation. Even though he has messed up, I would still like the kid to somehow redeem himself and turn all of this negativity into a positive.

  • Unreal the kid will be one of our best players ever but because he is a selfish fool he will live in infamy!!!!

Thanks! That's some crazy stuff right there. Maybe I should hold off on categorizing TP with Art and MoC. Especially Art, who is just a trash individual, and Clarett, who seems to be unable to keep his nose clean.

I agree. Pryor has probably played his last down of football. You cannot change the mistakes that you have made at this point. If he really feels remorseful and cares about TOSU, he should ask Coach Fickell if despite being suspended he could contribute to the team by helping out Braxton Miller and Taylor Graham.

There are a lot of people who would not want Pryor influencing any of the other QBs, but every man makes his own decision. Pryor's actions should serve as a lesson for others and you can believe there are plenty who are innocent who would not tolerate this going forward. I still think Pryor could play a positive role if he makes the decision. Fickell should at least give him the opportunity to show that he cares for TOSU.

  • As Jon Spencer would say..."Hell ya!" Anyone nothice how he was driving Monday night? Looked like Mario Andretti as he failed to yield at a red light.

  • Still not sure why everyone is blaming Pryor for all of this? He is partly to blame, but it appears there may be 28 other players that may have been doing the same thing as him. Why is everyone only blaming Pryor?

  • I think a lot of you are missing the point...Hall Of Shame canditates are not compared to EACH OTHER..they are ones who have brought shame to the university in one way or another on their way to or in Art's case, after their career here. Pryor is not comapred to#13...but his actions appear to heading for him to be a canditate for the Hall. My premise of the post says "Does he join the Hall of Shame"?> Time will tell...but he certainly has drawn the attentions of those investagiting this university in the past two weeks.!

superstars get the glory and most of the blame. He has to make better decisions... if this were just about tats it would be one thing. You know he was the ring leader.

  • If he gets suspended and goes to the NFL, yes. If he can stick it out, suck it up and come back and win games and apologize, no.

How? By teaching them his patented arm-punting skills? Pryor's talents as a quarterback are not things you can learn. You are either born to be 6'5", 245 pounds, run a 4.4 or you aren't. Never seen anything in his throwing mechanics, accuracy, abiltiy to read defenses, film study, etc. that wouldn't be better taught by the staff. No matter what Pryor "teaches" them, Graham isn't going to beat an OLB to the sidelines and turn it upfield and Braxton isn't going to be strong enough to stiff arm a DE. Time to move on.

I just hope that he leaves quitely and doesn't trash the program. Let's keep in mind, if there was any really bad stuff that would get us in really deep with the NCAA (like staff payments to players), this kid would have been involved.

  • Its a swinging door.

Let the dust settle and see what happens.

He still is a QB that is 31-4 or something, along with being the MVP in last 2 BCS games. I could go on about the postives but we those are in the books.

Along with the other players, he has admitted his mistakes and will be serving a suspension.

That is all the facts we have right now. Rest of stuff is specualtion. I know there is a lot of smoke and things do not look well, but I do not understand the urgency to smother this kid with more B.S. In due time, all the facts will reveal themselves.
