9 time means nothing in terms of who is a better defender. It means Jordan was great throughout his career, but Lebron's defense this past year is as good as I've ever seen from anyone. It isn't just the blocks- He routinely shuts down (slows down in the case of Durant) the best opposing player regardless of position. And for the record, Lebron has 4 of those all defensive first team awards in the last 4 years.

2012 team would beat the dream team in their shorts shorts, skinny legs and bad backs. The 2012 are playing FAR BETTER competition. The Dream Team played a bunch of SCHLUBS. I believe the best player they faced was Tony Kukoc who hadn't even played in the NBA yet. The 2012 team is facing teams with proven NBA players and all stars. The Dream Team was good but their competition made them look better than they were.
Go Buckeyes!!

I would have to agree with this statement to a degree but there was probably ten hall of famers on the original dream team. I don't think Tyson Chandler and harden are hall of fame caliber. Just saying. It's like picking between the two hottest women on earth. You can't go wrong with either and no one can or should try to make a compelling arguement otherwise.

The comparison is laughable. The postmen are Barkley, Ewing, and Robinson. I mean that's a wrap right there. Westbrook is going to get to the rim regularly against that group? Then you have 2 of the best PG to ever lace them up with Stcokton and Magic. Magic on the backside of his career was still a baller. I haven't even gotten to Jordan. Really this is a discussion? Cocaine is a helluva drug!

For those of you who believe this or any other basketball team would be able to compete (on any kind of regular basis) with the Dream Team, I am going to assume you are simply too young to remember just how good that team was. Forget the talent for just a second...you had arguably three of the greatest "winners" the NBA has ever seen in Jordan, Magic and Bird. Those players simply willed their teams to greatness and would not allow them to lose. I'm not trying to disrespect the 2012 team, but I am old enough to remember watching those guys play, and I'm telling you the Dream Team would beat the 2012 team probably 9 out of 10...and most likely by a comfortable margin.

I am also old enough (a freshman in college). I loved the Dream Team, but I totally disagree. 3 of the greatest winners...I assume you mean Jordan, Bird and Magic...Magic was was on the team but had retired the year before when he contracted HIV and Larry Bird retired in 1992 (spending most of the time sprawled out on the floor of the sideline)....these guys were NOT even close to being in their primes. The Dream team was Jordan, Robinson, Pippen Barkley and Malone. Great players that dominated Bad teams that the 2012 would thrash just as badly.
Go Buckeyes!!

Dream Team vs. '12 Team USA? Thoughts
