ENOUGH with the phony Joepa cancer crap.

That is PRECISELY what irks me. If this man is using this an excuse it is sickening. When would Paterno in the last week have possibly had time to go get checked for cancer? The news crews have followed him constantly. Furthermore, if he was diagnosed weeks/months ago, why is he suddenly speaking out? Has JoePa EVER let the public know when hes been ill? Why has he changed his stance all of a sudden? This is a diversion and its pathetic. Its an insult to people who have truly lost people to this and to survivors.

Moron. I'm sure you've known that for some time.

I was not going to post on this thread, but you make some very good points.

    Go Buckeyes!!

  • Cancer is nothing to joke about. I lost my Mom to lung cancer 11 years ago, and my Dad just finished 9 months of chemo for Non Hodgkins lymphoma. If this is a sham or attempt to deflect attention, then it is the lowest scum bag move ever- and they should all rot in hell! Most of them should anyway!

  • @Jim, are you in 4th grade? You are missing the ENTIRE point. We spent 8 months carting my nephew from Cincy to Cleveland at age 2 with cancer. Read the discussion before you call names.

This sham is a slap in the face to real cancer patients. Could it be anymore obvious that PSU cooked up this Paterno has cancer nonsense to deflect the REAL problem at hand? This school and everybody involved with it are complete scumbags. Now, suddenly the press has to ask about JoePas health. Makes me ill.

I am not going to go as far as you but I find the timing of this to be something that makes the cynic in me want to get hold of the keyboard.

Not missing any point. Like you, I have been affected by cancer. You have no idea about Paterno, so it is moronic to take your position.

  • -1 for OP.

This is one of the worst posts I've read on this board. Who cares when it was announced the man has cancer. All the best to his recovery.

  • @jim, youre opinion no more based on fact than anybody else so quit with the holier than thou attitude. Im saying that based on the past 10 years, Paterno has never brought up health concerns...EVER. Now, a week after the biggest blackeye in the history of sports hes suddenly "going public". If you dont see that as a bit fishy then youre blind. Just bc someone gets cancer it doesnt absolve them of all the bad things theyve done. You either have a reading comprehension problem or youre letting your political correctness get in the way of some real spin doctoring. My point is the timing of this is suspect. Id bet MY HOUSE that had this scandal not broken and PSU was in the midst of possibly winning a B10 title nobody would be talking about Paternos health.
