ESPN Jermey Lin racial slur headline

Excuse the racial slur, but it is to point out a wrong so I hope it is doesn't offend anyone.
I have yet to see ESPN apologize, but imagine that the unemployment rate in Bristol Connecticut increases by one.

i said the same thing in the other lin thread where people were holding up signs in madison square garden calling him the yellow mamba. no mention from the broadcast booth that it was inappropriate.

They were asking whether Lin had a chink in his armour. It was a legitimate use of the phrase so I doubt many people were affended by it.

You are quite wrong my friend.... I can't think of a worse thing for an Asian to be called than "Chink". It's equivalent to the N word IMO. And I guarantee you the person who posted that headline knew exactly what he/she was doing. It was probably someone like yourself, who thought this play on words was a smart idea.

We live in such a politically correct country that someone is offended if you say hi. Each generation it gets worse. Now everyone needs a participation trophy, even the last place fat ass, can't give F's to students who are failing, and if you say something to someone and it hurts their fragile sense abilities, they want to sue you or shoot you.

No one called him a chink or said anything remotely racist about him. Should they have used another phrase, probably but what they said wasn't racist.

I dont think this is such a big deal! He meant to use it like KINK in the hose. People are to eager to play the racist card anymore. ESPN should not apologies, nor should they feel bad about this. Its not like the guy is running around using a racial slur. He missed pronounced the word KINK.....Get over it.

Dude, you're so wrong here. It can br a legitimate phrase depending on how it's used. ESPN used it here specifically because chink had a duel meaning. That's what makes it wrong, hence their apology.

I totally agree, i'm tired of the PR bullshit but i'm also tired of idiots that work for national companies thinking they can get away with this kind of thing in this era. You have to know people are going to have a problem with that, hope he gets fired and sued just for being an idiot. I mean, that is so blatant that it screams hammer me with criticism. Guy must have hated ESPN or something. We should praise him for bringing heaps of hate on the 4 letter

Riiiight, I'm sure it was a coincidence that they used a headline with the word chink in it when referring to an Asian player. I'm going to choose to be a little less obtuse than that if it's okay with you.
