Adding FSU to the B1G would also further stunt the growth of the Big 12, which leaves Texas a legitimate target in the future to come to the B1G.
The Father, The Son... well, it's the
The Holy Trinity... as I see it.
Go Bucks! 12-0 2012, 14-0 2013! I can dream can't I? ;)
This is getting ridiculous! There will be some unexpected and undesired outcomes because of all this. You know, sometimes it might not be a bad thing to remain at least a semblance of what you were. Big Ten football had a brand, and its perfectly planned to no longer be the Big Ten, but the BIG conference. This is only about MONEY!
While I agree ND would be a nice addition, they are not necessary to make B1G a great conference. Yes, it trails the SEC right now in terms of football power but those things go in cycles. Their end is toward super conferences and expanded playoff system so I prefer Delaney be proactive and pick the teams he wants rather than take some bodies leftovers.
Florida State would be great. Hopefully it happens. I feel the Big Ten should stop at 16 to 18 if they can get UNC and Florida State and stop at 16 great but if they have to go to 18 to get ND then okay.
I am not convinced that FSU is a great for for the Big10..However it would be fun to see FSU playing lowly Minnesota in a snowstrom in late November.
If I were in charge, I would say the end game is 18 teams.
1. Ohio State
3. Penn State
6. North Carolina
7. Georgia Tech
If they wanted to pander to southern pussies who are afraid to play games in cold weather, they could have the FSU and Georgia Tech's of the world play their far north conference games earlier in the season or have them play at neutral sites. I'm sure Lucas Oil Stadium wouldn't mind hosting a Big Ten conference game.
