I'd be cool with this:
Here is how I would love to see the New B1G look after all the plates have shifted:
Keeps most of the old ACC rivalries intact, helps save some travel and climate concerns in November and Indiana is not as far from these schools to where they would seem like a complete outpost. Some sacrifices had to be made for this one.
Gives Notre Dame its desire to have its East Coast games in major markets (Boston, NYC/NJ, and Balt/DC) and creates a natural rival with PSU. Plus PSU gets some of its old rivals back in UMD, BC and RU (if you can call them old rivals).
Schools are relatively close and maintain some rivalries (hell, who am I fooling, The Game is the rivalry that matters most in this pod and in the B1G). It also prevents OSU/scUM from ever playing more than once and the chance to ensure it stays as the last game of the season.
Maintains and keeps these natural rivalries and helps save travel as well. An added bonus, these schools are rewarded by having trips from time to time to Chicago, which i know could be opportunities for games at Soldier Field for schools like Nebraska and its fan base.
I'm sure changes could be made, but this is just how I would like to see things, Some schools could be exchanged out for others, but this would be sweet IMHO!!
We're all dead men. Sadly, we cannot choose how but, what we can decide is how we meet that end, in order that we are remembered, as men.
I think we need to drop the whole "pod" thing. That's not going to happen.
